Trainers

Post by Vitello »

With Tarueka down the old caravan seems like the best lowbie option. Trainers in mistral lake however are short. The old guard captain that was in the gate house isn't available any more.

She doesn't cover everything the guard captain taught, but there's a mercenary under the guardhouse arch that teaches some combat skills, if you haven't found her yet.

Only offensive skills of brawling and hafted weapons, no dodge either.

If people want to make a list of which skills they can't find trainers for in Mistral Lake, we'll be happy to look at filling some of those gaps. The crippled hunter, whom teaches firekindling, perception, skinning, and stealth, has returned to the Straight Arrow shop up on eastern Mountainside Way. Leynier in the same shop now teaches archery and marksmanship in addition to bowyering and fletching.

Missing (Some may be offered by Coalition guys in the Warehouse)
Chained Weapons, Climbing, Crossbows, Daggers, Dodge, Hurl Weapons, Polearms, Slings, Staves, Swords, Trapping, Two-Weapon Combat, Farming, Knapping, Pottery, All music.

And Forging/Lapidary/Mining is all in the workyard, which requires an extra 25 Riln to rent the services to train. While I can understand the placement perhaps of Forging/Lapidary as you need to be inside the workyard to make the most of those two... the mining, you do not.

The crippled hunter at the Straight Arrow now teaches trapping in addition to his other specialties.

A graying blademaster, getting too old for adventuring, has taken to hanging around Gheistbane Arms to offer teaching. He teaches swords, daggers, two-weapon combat, hurl weapon, and dodge.

A weathered bushcrafter whom frequents the Mistral Lake General Store is willing to teach students in the arts of knapping, slings, staffs, and climbing.

A massive one-eyed brute with a lame leg has been seen at the Mistral Lake Town Square lately, chatting with the fisherman. The brute is willing to accept riln in exchange for lessons in armor, brawling, melee, chained weapons, and polearms.

A small entry arch has been added just outside the Mistral Lake workyard proper. Nelana has taken to staying here in order to offer lessons even to those whom aren't paying to use the workyard.

Thank you for adding all the new trainers and making some changes to the rest. They've certainly added a bit of character to the areas I frequent.
