Banned Materials

Post by Landion »

Sceptus was seen in the Corvus Market area this evening, stalking around and grumbling bitterly. He made a hasty announcement to the citizens gathered.

"This should go without saying, but alas, some appear too foolish or naive and must have it spelled out for them like children.

There shall be absolutely NO iron, steel or celestium allowed within the walls of my outpost. EVER. Any fool seen with, or caught with such banned material... Will.... Be.... Punished."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "However, any citizen who comes across any amount of the material celestium, and is able to turn it over to the outpost for... safe keeping ... will be rewarded. That is the one and only exception."

He then stalked off, still growling to himself and muttering about a new assignment for his assassins.

An OOC note here:

The reward for celestium does not mean Corvus members should be attempting to steal another player's weapon, simply because it is made celestium. Stealing player weapons is frowned upon, and monitored by the GMs.

Should sunsteel be added to the list of banned metals?

Yes, it should.

Though, given that sunsteel is a bit more rare, the same guidelines apply for it as for celestium.

Also, those slippers have have been fed to a twisted black demon. (Accidentally of course.)

Many citizens of the Outpost have noticed that the ban on ferrous materials is being taken more seriously of late, and that a few market stall owners that had developed a more lax adherence to said ban have mysteriously gone missing. Perhaps more notably, the Outpost guards have been ordered to more heavily scrutinize citizens and ensure that they are not wearing or holding banned materials when entering the Outpost.

(Note: You -can- have banned-material items within containers and get past the guards, but continually smuggling banned materials into the Outpost is not advised!)

Banned Materials - A Trade

Post by Akila »

Ferrous metals are a big nope in Corvus, as they should be, therefore unsellable at the market.

Could we perhaps have a way to turn in such items for characters that have found themselves suddenly unable to store their iron or steel in Mistral either for a monetary value (don't want those Shadgardians getting their hands on them!) or just a straight material swap to bronze? It feels nasty just tossing a steel shortsword in the trash barrel in the middle of Corvus!

Thank you!

you could get rid of steel or other ferrous materials outside, in the wilderness. that is one way, at least. but there are some items too good to pass up you are talking about, yes. I personally would be super keen on making this a trade of sorts
