Copper?
Copper?
Could we get some in Corvus mine? As it stands I can't practice forge weapons without going on a quest for metals.
Re: Copper?
Fixed! Small amounts but some is better than none. Kudos
Re: Copper?
Copper has disappeared from the mine. If it is a matter of ore rotation I can understand but I need to know which rooms have the copper potential so I can mine until I hit some.

Re: Copper?
If we intended for every room to have its complete overall mining potential readily knowable, we'd put in a mechanic to facilitate that. Part of mining is looking and mining around in hopes of finding what you're looking for without knowing exactly where to find it.Vitello wrote:but I need to know which rooms have the copper potential so I can mine until I hit some.

I have to bite my tongue and try very hard not to be venomous, I want that to be appreciated.
That said the difference between corvus mine and player mines is appalling.

I agree 100%. The matter has enjoyed a longtime seat on the to-do list.Vitello wrote:the difference between corvus mine and player mines is appalling.

In the meantime I'll be scrounging for copper and Ardor will be swimming in gold and diamonds.

Re: Copper?
Mining has been long overdue for an overhaul. "Fixing" it so that the city associated mines produce stuff equivalent to the way that Player Mines produce stuff wouldn't be a fix. It'd just create a bigger imbalance.Vitello wrote:In the meantime I'll be scrounging for copper and Ardor will be swimming in gold and diamonds.

Re: Copper?
Thread necromancy.
Please please do something about this. You can't make weapons or armor from tin/zinc. Meanwhile you can wander into the Haiban mine and get iron (which does a corvite no good).
I shouldn't have to bend over backwards to get materials to smith with.

Re: Copper?
Keep in mind that Corvus was never really known for its rich deposits of ore. The mine was just something that happened to have been found in the area and was used to obtain a few useful materials.
With that said, I did a little checking and noticed that copper has become a rare commodity for those without Shadgard access. As such, a very limited vein of copper ore can be discovered in the Corvus mine, if you look hard enough. Please consider this a temporary fix until something better is thought up for it.

Re: Copper?
Thanks for the effort Noc, but I think I'll refrain from tying up ability points until a long term solution is put in place.
The mines used to be much richer. The bronze rails through the mines were installed thanks to Vitello mining and smelting over 200 bars of bronze, from corvus mine. The mine used to have copper, opals, and silver in it but was deemed to potent for a (at the time) starter town and nerfed. After that I asked to have copper put it, and it was in a room or two, but then later when the vein depletion/cycling was instituted those veins vanished.

Re: Copper?
On the plus side, if you've got copper it is a great and easy place to finish it off with all the tin/zinc.

Re: Copper?
You also don't have shades in there harassing you while you try to mine.
Iron in Shadgard mine, please. And rubies. And obsidian for knapping.

Fine add shades and copper.
There used to be aggressive rats but I think the demons ate them all.

Re: Copper?
I really wouldn't mind seeing the mine get a bit more love. I would mind seeing Corvus in general having more love, even.
But, I do get that time and resources are a limited thing- and the people of Corvus very rarely show any appreciation for things.
So it must be pretty draining of a topic.
