In light of the new recipes that were released I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an informal "learn how to" at Lae's house in Keth.

I'm thinking this Friday, the 14th at 6pm server time? (That would be 8P for you EST folks.)

If you're an avid cook and can't make that day, what day can you attend? I'll try to schedule around you folks!

I was planning on having enough goods for everyone to try to make something, but since my most recent crop completely failed, we'll just have to make due with what I have on hand.

So we met, we cooked, we discussed produce and skins.

We made strawberry pie :

one floured pie crust, strawberries and a rhubarb

pumpkin pie :

one floured pie crust, mashed pumpkin and ground cinnamon

meat pie :

one floured pie crust, some stock, meat (or fish), a potato, a carrot, an ear of corn

hearty stew :

some stock, meat (or fish), a potato, a carrot, an ear of corn

basic stew :

some stock, meat (or fish), some dried pasta

You'll need a stew pot, a pie pan, a mixing bowl, a masher, and a mortar and pestle.

If you have any questions about any of the recipies or want to see them made (and taste them), find Lae. I love cooking!

Thanks for throwing this Lae, I had a good time. I hope we can have more gatherings like this, it's a good way to just get people together and socialize.

A few questions:

Is it possible to make other types of pies, blueberry, apple, etc? What could be done with oranges?

I'd like to suggest a use for wheat and barley, and a way to have access to chocolate and other delacies for making baked goods--cakes, cookies, breads, rolls, brownies if such a thing would even exist, pastries.

I don't cook anything beyond skewered fish but I wholeheartedly support the idea of letting people bake cookies and brownies.
