putting logs in handcart

It does not make any sense to me that, when chopping a tree, branches are automatically placed in the handcart but logs are not. If nothing goes against it, I'd love if my logs would go into my handcart on their own.

Well, think of it this way. When you're cutting branches off a tree, you're holding onto the branch and chopping it off at the root. With logs, it's a gigantic tree that's been debranched and is lying on the ground. It takes much more effort to cut through this giant tree to break it into logs, and when you're done it's still lying on the ground.
