Reconsider watering

With the weight and heave mechanics it is no longer easy to haul a barrel of water out to water crops. Water hauling becomes complicated (4 people to heave the barrel into a cart) or tedious (in and out of town hauling buckets of water, travel time, energy/food)

Riverside is an option but the only reasonable place icly for Alwaren is out by Valeria and a church only city isn't really jumping with rp.

Could we have an alternative? Watercarts, wilderness water collection with RT, irrigation?

You can use transfer to move filled barrels to and from wagons.

Just as a word of warning, being able to bypass heave mechanics with transfer is considered a bug and is being fixed.

Weird, because it didn't use to be that way so I assumed transfer was a temporary workaround. I remember having to ask someone to help heave a barrel full of water because the syntax was something like - as the barrel fills with water it becomes too heavy to carry and you set it down.

While we're on weird heave mechanics. I'm not sure if it was ever reported or not, but minions and horses (anything in your group that isn't even human) can be used to meet the heave population requirements. So 1 person, 1 friend and a friendly horse or rook minion could heave a 3-person job.

The other alternative to transfer is simply to put the barrel in the wagon and then fill it since you can fill them in the wagon. The problem then is getting the water out easily, which led to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4449&p=23516&hilit=barrel#p23516
