A question on Herbalism

My question regards Herbalism, and how one discovers new Poultices. I must be missing a clue, but how does that work? The only idea that comes to my mind is picking a bunch of herbs, grinding things up, and laying them about before trying to spam "Make poultice 106" etc, and seeing what works. Is that how others have done it?
Is it a more roleplayed thing? Do more Poultices unlock based on skills level? I have no idea!

I've harassed the developers quite a bit on this topic myself.
I believe that I was told "for all intents and purposes, the provided list of poultices cover the gamut of all required poultices". Poultice creation generally always results in a dud unless there's a specific formulation you follow, and based on the number of possible permutations, to create a custom poultice off poultice create is impractical.
But there is at least one or two recipes hidden in there, someone confirmed it when I incessantly harassed them for weeks.

Ahh, well on the one hand that is unfortunate. I had hoped to be able to make use of some of the other herbs I gather in addition to the main ones I look for. An example would be redleaf. I assume there is a use for it, Poultices wise...but I have no clue. As of yet, I've not really met any expert herbalists IG I can RP with to share any tips.
On the other, I can see why Herbalism would not need to be developed so much. How many Poultices does someone need, really? I stick to making two, and give them away like candies to folks who need them. I'm sure Herbalism could be expanded into other uses if the devs wants to add things.

That isn't too say it'll never happen! And yeah, basically ..
I'm happy to see more herbalists rolling around these days
