Jewelry Crafting Released!

Post by Landion »

Huzzah.

Here's the rundown:

- Create a crude peice of jewelry via a mold.
- You can then take that crude jewelry and place it on a jewelry crafters's worktable.
- Use the command jewelrycraft to see your options.
- The higher your blacksmithing and lapidary skill, the more customization options you will have available to you.
- This tapers on a skill range of 0-500. At 500 in both skills, you will have all options available to you.

This allows you to:

- Change the basic design from crude to something more suitable.
- Etch a design into the piece.
- Attach a faceted or polished gemstone to the piece.

A jewelry piece with an attached gemstone will sell at the market for a price based on the gemstone you used.

This will be adjusted extensively, and not every customization option may be the best for a particular piece of jewelry, it's up to you to play with it and see what you like the most!

Enjoy...(I'm running out the door and will try to answer Q's when I get back, or tommorrow.)
No longer GMing for CLOK.

Has anyone tried this? It's not something I would do, but I'm curious to see how it works and what you can end up with.
Whenever the pressure of our complex city life thins my blood and numbs my brain, I seek relief in the trail; and when I hear the coyote wailing to the yellow dawn, my cares fall from me - I am happy.

Do you get skills gains for using this skill?

Thanks.

I didn't get any skill from it yet, but so far I like this.

For those interested, I posted what options I can make below.
there are about 10 molds for sale so far that I've seen.

SPOILERS!

What I can make with over 500 blacksmithing and 400 something lapidary.

Designs:
hammered
filigree
scrollwork
plaited
bulky
narrow
polished
burnished
delicate
wide
slender
interwoven
twisted
sleek
thin
intricate
twining

Etchings:

feather
circle
sun
moon
oak
pine
maple
berry
tart
dove
eye
butterfly
urn
bison
tower
thorn
rose
bear
wolf
imp
tendril
sigil

Gem options:

1: set with
2: adorned by
3: inset with a single
4: displaying a
5: studded with

I think there are probably more gem options once I get to 500 lapidary?

Here's an example of some stuff I made:

a twisted bloodglass band studded with black opals.
a narrow silver wristlet studded with violet garnets.
a slender bloodglass ring adorned by a purple amethyst.

I made Evelyn some earrings too. :)

I think it would be nice to have a few more gem options, depending on the type of jewelry you are working on.
