Advanced Herbalism.

Post by Evelyn »

I was wondering if there's any possibility of new herbs being added into the game for foraging. I seem to be capped at around 80ish in my Herbalism skill, and can't get it any higher to that, even in difficult areas like the Poachers and the Stone Canyon.

As luck would have it, we're working on new herb stuff right now, including new herbs as well as automated plant growth based on climate, environment, and terrain.

If you survey and find something called "spiny black deathleaf", make sure you're wearing gloves before you forage it.

I'm looking forward to this, thanks for working on it.

How can you know a plants effect without tasting a bit of it?

Someone had to have tasted it first, to have been able to write books about it. Or have seen someone taste it to write books about it.

What about some plants that have fungus or some kind of rot on them so you have to pick through 'this is a good one or a bad one' as well as the rot giving different effects when mixed in?

I fully approve, by the way, of psychedelic hallucinogenic herbs.

So where would you usually find this poisonous plant?

Two things:
1) Can herbalism get its own board?
2) Can higher ranks of Herbalism give an estimate of how many plants of one type are in a room?
ex:
You make a thorough survey of the area, looking for any resources you might be able to procure.
You find evidence that the following resources can be foraged here:
a stick
some cuttings of lifevine (Several)
some red-tinged deep green bloodwort (Very Few)
some emberberries (Many)
You can see the following types of trees here:
oak

Just touching this board once again with an added thought. Is there a way to identify what poultice are what by examining them, at a certain skill level? If not, I'd like to make this a suggestion of a possible thing.

No. I agree that that should come as a perk at a certain degree of herbalism, and maybe really high first aid because who doesn't like incentive, right?
