Help for other Android mud clients

Post by Kent »

So yesterday my Blowtorch app suddenly ceased from working. It crashes at startup and no amount of rebooting will fix it.

I tried two other apps, Mukluk and LensDroid. Both of them have the same curious problem, I can connect to clok.contrarium.net and get the welcome to clok screen of text as usual, but afterwards, I cannot send any commands into the game server. For example, /who or /login kent password produces nothing, no further response from the game server, as if I typed in nothing.

Anyone know a solution to this?

Does it work where the app store version fails?

In addition, what is my best bet for an installing app for the rest version of blowtorch, seeing this will be my one and only app to install not from the Play Store?

Kent, test instructions for the testing version of blowtorch are located here: http://www.offsetnull.com/blowtorch/v2- ... tructions/ -- that includes the download link.

Alternatively, you could do some testing with a direct telnet connection first. I would install connectbot (https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... connectbot or https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/? ... connectbot) and create a telnet directly to the clok server. With either option, you'll probably need to use the --login and --who commands instead of /login or /who.
