I keep thinking about the staff and wand problem, and thought of another interesting idea. A sorcery crystal is essentially a crystal created with a unique crystal lattice. This lattice allows nether to seep into, and essentially bond with the crystal without degenerating or destroying it. A sorcerer can then fill the crystal with nether and insert the crystal into a weapon, wear the crystal as a necklace, or hold the crystal in hand and draw from the stored nether to cast.
Crystal states:
A darkly glowing crystal (Fully rested?)
A glowing crystal (slightly?)
A slightly pulsing crystal (not fatigued?)
A pulsing crystal (tired?)
A weakly glowing crystal (exhausted?)
A crystal (empty!)
You can use a chisel in order chisel a crystal socket into a weapon, with differing quality sockets.
A masterworked socket
An excellent socket
An average socket
A crude socket
A malformed socket
Crude and malformed sockets have a chance to leach away some nether from the attached crystal midswing.
You can order sorcery crystals at the guild shop for a certain amount of guild recognition points. (1000?)
For weapons with metal hilts... Your chisel is diamond tipped.
Suggestion: Sorcery crystals

It's neat, but would only work with crystals that have a very low density, as Rias has stated the higher a material's density is the less magic works with it. Hence there being a lack of Magical Swords and the like, and Elemancer staves being only made of wood.
Morgoth, I cried
All hope is gone but I swear revenge
Hear my oath
I will take part in your damned fate

I was thinking that it contained nether within the lattice, taking advantage of the unique form. Bit of a long shot, yeah. Har. The crystal wouldn't discharge upon striking, if with a weapon. It's simply attached to it for the sorcerer to easily tap into. (Tends to be on the hilt.) Holding the crystal or wearing it loosely on a necklace would work too.
