The guild workshop has been update along with the release of Lapidary. You will find you are able to work in peace away from those who might have sticky fingers.
You will also find you receive a skill training bonus to Lapidary while working within this area.
Lapidary Mastery will likely be released as soon as I have time. It will provide bonuses similar to other guild skills.
