I don't really care for your attitude, Preiman. The item in question is not merely cosmetic, like a bar of platinum, where the general populace doesn't really need it except for pure luxury. The celestium and the sunsteel were mined and imported with the intention of being used in the battle of the heroes against the netherim, not so that the artisan can stockpile it with the intention of not making money, but *more* money and even *MORE* money.
I didn't say I couldn't afford it. I didn't I was mad about it. I said it has been priced at such an absurdly high price point by a collective of a few people that no body is willing to pay for it at that price. The big winner in this situation is the netherim.
Anyway, your ad hominem comments have cost you a discussion partner. I really think you should take your attitude away to somewhere else from this bbs and this game. For my part, I will be making a note to ignore and to no longer respond to comnents from you, as you seem to be a person of ill will.
Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
I will apologize for my tone because that’s valid, I took a tone with you because I took a poor opinion of your argument, which I still feel to be incredibly entitle, nevertheless, I apologize. I do resent any part of my comment being described as ad hominem however, you are angry because things are priced so high that you can’t or don’t wish to pay for them, that is just a acknowledgment of the tone of your argument nothing more, and not meant to be an attack. As to characterizing me as a person of ill will, I think you’re confusing Ill will with disagreeing with you.

Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
As I understand it, the items that are up for sell for between 700,000 and 1,000,000 riln are not set in stone. It was just a way to advertise the items in question. Seeing as legendary items come with some pretty unique bonuses, and the chances of making one are not purely based on grinding, it stands to reason that they would be far more valuable to the creator and the purchaser. There haven't been many legendary items sold, and as such a price range for these items varies greatly from person to person. Especially if you include character's relations to one another.
Back to the original topic though. The artisan import shop is one of those places that I'd personally like to see more active. However, as was stated before, alts come crawling out of the woodwork and buy it all up. It rarely gets used at that point. Sona's suggestion that the price get exponentially higher with each restocking seems like more of a punishment than anything. Something I could see working is using recognition points in conjunction with riln to purchase items there once it has been restocked. Alts who rarely play may not be able to purchase any of the rarer goods there even if they have the riln, while still providing active artisans with the ability to do so. For this to work, characters will all have to start from 0 recognition, regardless of their individual histories. It's something I can discuss with the other members of the team.

Speaking to Dionisia, Eagalon apologetically says, "I am sorry that you also had to suffer this time too. but i definitely think that some arse hole is targetting me."
Dionisia says, "I could barely see in front of me."
Vlora says, "Is someone just really ripping a good one everywhere they go."
Aelarra quietly says, "Definitely an aeromancer."
[EVENTCHAT Uyoku]: Sorry cat laying in tap, tying hard.

Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
Guild recognition points is a good way to control the Import shop too... I approve.
Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
I have tried to negotiate with three different artisans over the price of a sunsteel bar, and in each case, it has been like that teasing game a big kid plays with a small kid: The big kid holds a toy in front of the small kid, and when the small kid reaches out for the toy, the big kid lifts it up too high for the small kid to be able to take it.
Likewise, none of these three artisans would discuss an actual price for their bar. They always came around to: what I would offer for it isn't enough. It's never enough. We just don't know when enough is enough. Thus, keeping the bar out of my hands was more important than closing the sale and getting a netherim slayer weapon into my hands, for the benefit of the common good.
This is why I suggested that the rare metal only be purchased by an artisan if a sale and a price be arranged with a buyer before hand. If Locke wanted the rare metal bar to be merely a speculation commodity, he could gave kept it in his own vault for that, now, couldn't he?

Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
I think this is a very fair compromise, and while grinding gp back would be a little pain, I'd willingly take the hit, because this could functionally make the system work better. I was thinking that the climbing riln costs would force artisans to work more to earn that riln to secure such things, but I think gp might actually be a better way that might keep players from funneling riln from other characters onto their artisans to get such shiny things.Loona wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 7:23 am As I understand it, the items that are up for sell for between 700,000 and 1,000,000 riln are not set in stone. Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
Maybe every month in which an artisan character plays at least ten hours, he gains one point of some sort, and every month that he doesn't play at least 10 hours, he loses one point. Maybe the max he can bank is 12 such points, and he can't go below zero if he takes an extended break.Loona wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 7:23 am .

It would take X amount of riln and six of these "playtime-points" (or a better name for them if we can think of it) to buy a bar of anything rarer than bloodglass.
Re: Suggestion: Artisan Import Shop
I think recognition points makes a lot more sense, because "playing for 10 hours/month" can literally be done by logging in and idling. At least recognition points will correspond to being logged in and doing artisan related stuff.Lemuel wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 7:21 amMaybe every month in which an artisan character plays at least ten hours, he gains one point of some sort, and every month that he doesn't play at least 10 hours, he loses one point.
