Magic skills now require effort

Post by Rias »

Castable magic skills (pyromancy, sorcery, etc.) now require striking a target that provides at least some challenge in order to skill up. Aiming these casts will likely soon switch to being based on the related magic skill rather than the general "spell aiming".

This appears to be broken at the moment. It will be addressed.
A cheerful jingle intones, "Rithenschmirtz Evil Incorporateeeed!"
[OOC - Candy Mountain, Spearhead]: usually when they're snarky, it's Rithiel

What is meant by "some challenge"? I get Druidry experience even when I cast Tangle Root on targets with 0 Dodge. Or does this only apply to Marksmanship-based spells?

With Druidry, we're still trying to determine how best to base its skillgain, so it's a flat number at the moment.
