Hi,
Maybe it would go a very long way towards promoting rp and character interaction if some of the more difficult survey tasks were deep within an area and encouraged an elemancer to ask for a guard or help while they conducted their research? Thaelsh has some very interesting earthy rooms mentioning exposed minerals and dirt, and there are some place in the sewers that refer to ice formations; there is water in the Straughthwoods and the jungle boscage; maybe analyzing the sand in the Desert of Desolation? Poor geomancers, sorry to list all the especially difficult ones for you, but water is less common in super dangerous places.
To my knowledge, which may very well be incomplete, currently there are the Stone Canyon ones, but that seems to resolve more as stealth rather than asking for help--for ic reasons yes, but also because the creatures there are not super scary nethrim with the power to end you in one unlucky roll. And then there are the super far away tedious ones like Redleaf that are still mostly safe because the rooms are close to the entrance. Currently, the closest to risky might be the swamp through the Deadwood Forest, or the Gaslight Swamp, where being alone is kind of encouraged because groups there can sometimes be a little bit frustrating.
Sorry to post so suddenly. It is understandable that the focus is currently elsewhere, but if elemancy tasks ever see a revisit somewhere in the future hopefully this is remembered!
Thank you,
-Alila

Drakolin lairs would be good hydro/geo and pyro survey locations respectively. Surveying a fire-breathing drake's nest or studying a living fire breathing drake might be fun moderate level pyromancy tasks.
