I smelted some of the riversteel I purchased from the irport shop to make a 3-pound bar and it smelted down to steel. Is riversteel supposed to do that? If not, I can fill out a request - I still have a tiny riversteel-bar from the cutting and a standard riversteel-bar from the shop if an item inspection is needed.

Unfortunately that is by design, riversteel can’t be smelted. You get one shot at forging it and for some items you’ll end up waisting a bit. What i wouldn’t give for a bar large enough for a greatsword. It would be nice if the import shop warned you of that though
