Abandoned horse was taken to "Stone Canyon Stables"

I died to some nasty things in stone canyon a couple of weeks ago, and my horse was abandoned there as I didn't have the wherewithal to go get it that night.
Later, I got a mail from "Stone canyon stables" saying that they had my horse, like a normal stables would. Except, I don't think there is a stone canyon stables that I can access: I looked, and saw nothing aside from a closed off area that maybe might have a stables in it.
Have I missed something, or is my horse stuck in limbo?
It's a palomino morgan horse, stuck in Stone Canyon stables.
