Furnace Item Limits - Transfer vs. get/put

INITIAL EDIT: So I just found this thread that seems to indicate this behavior is definitely a bug. I'll leave the rest of the post below just for posterity.
ORIGINAL POST:
There's another thread about furnace item limits that I found, but it doesn't address the following behavior directly, which seems buggy.
Currently there's a maximum 6-item transfer limit on furnaces in addition to a weight limit, but get/put ignores the 6-item limit and only works off of the weight limit.
Example: Transferring items into the furnace
Is this intended, and if not, should we avoid using get/put for furnaces?

Right after, using get/putl in pack list
In the capacious gray suede pack you see ...
a copper neck-standard (x7)

The furnace is empty.

transfer neck from pack to furnace
You transfer 6 items from your capacious gray suede pack into a furnace, but some items didn't fit.

In the furnace you see a copper neck-standard (x6).
There is plenty of room left in the furnace.
And no, you can't use get/put to put too much weight in the furnace. For example, you can't put over 6 breastplates in a furnace regardless of how you try.EWAvdSm>
get neck from pack
put neck in furnace
You remove a copper neck-standard from the capacious gray suede pack in your right hand.

You put a copper neck-standard in the furnace that is in the room.
