Stealth gains in heavy armor are bugged.

Wearing heavy armor reduces stealth gains even below what they actually should be. Yes, I know that there were changes made to practicing stealth while wearing heavy armor so that skillgain could more accurately reflect our actual level of skill -- i.e., so people can't easily grind stealth by practicing on easier targets -- and that's fine, but I think the numbers need some adjusting. When heavily-armored and ambushing critters that are appropriate for my level of stealth skill, I don't get any stealth skillgain.

Here's a log that should deftly illustrate the problem:
You are currently under the following active effects:
Your armor is remarkably reducing your stealth.

You are wearing the following armor:

head: .... (rigid leather) a hard leather cap (undamaged)
neck: .... (plate) a copper gorget (undamaged)
torso: ... (metal scale) a copper scale cuirass (undamaged)
arms: .... (metal scale) some copper scale bracers (undamaged)
hands: ... (plate) a pair of copper gauntlets (undamaged)
legs: .... (metal scale) some copper scale greaves (undamaged)
feet: .... (plate) a pair of copper sabatons (undamaged)

You appear to be heavily-armored.

"There, now go out and practice what we've been working on for a while, and it should all sink in."

(Your training has granted you +1 to your Stealth skill. Your practice of this skill will be doubly effective for the next 24 in-game hours or until you gain 2.5 unmodified points' worth of skillgain, whichever comes first.)

I don't think you should be getting ANY stealth gain when wearing heavy armor. Stealth is a light armor skill that somewhat works with moderate armor. When you go full on heavy like that, it should be mostly disabled.

Though, the fact that NPC training us the same system as regular skill gain and you didn't even get your +2 points is indeed a bug. Well, a flaw in the training system. It'd kinda need rewritten somehow.

Definitely shouldn't get gains for ambushing in that stuff (or even really be able to successfully ambush...) though.

It's not inconceivable that someone exceptionally skilled in stealth could successfully ambush imperceptive people or critters even while wearing heavy armor. Make the heavy armor penalty more challenging if you think it needs balancing -- I'm fine with that -- but I frankly think it's patently silly to claim that no one should be able to successfully ambush while wearing heavy armor.
