Steal from whom?

There has been a problem with stealing lately that is slowly causing my heart to shrivel up and die.

I can still steal from crowds, but I'm unable to steal from actual characters, be it PCs or NPCs.

I'll use Nootau as an example: if i type 'steal nootau' when he is in the same room, it says "Steal from whom?" and if he isn't in the room it says "I couldn't find what or from whom you were trying to steal". It does the same thing for other PCs and NPCs I've tried to steal from.

It sounds like it's expecting "steal <item> <target>". I take it it used to accept "steal <target>" to steal riln?

It was a bug resulting from the fix for trying to steal from inanimate objects. Should be fixed.

It's fixed, and to Reynard: all you do is type steal <target> and you'll get whatever you get. You don't get to choose. If you did I'd have so many trophy steals...
