Losing energy from casts without actually casting anything

So I was playing around with tactics guerilla today while doing a little training, and I noticed this happening:

cast
(energy -1)
You are unable to get away from the hostiles engaging you in combat!
Roundtime: 3 seconds.
(energy -30)

See, I'm losing energy without actually having cast anything. Just thought this might be an oversight, as well it's a bit inconvenient and maybe not entirely logical.
