Edges for Edge

Post by Toukoilija »

Basically the idea would be to add special edges to bladed weapons - serrated (extra bleeding), extremely sharp (real nasty), rounded lenghts along it (+parry) and so on. Increase in difficulty/cost of producing them - also adds a little bit of variance to weaponry.

Edit:
Realizing I am going sort of off-topic:
How about giving crafters some degree of ability to add details to the looks of their craftwork - like etching some holy passage on the blade meant for a knight or just a tiny signature somewhere to mark the weapon's maker - not necessarily with any mechanic gameplay impact, but once again adds depth to the system.

Is there going to be some sort of enchantment possibility?

Metals are extremely resistant to magic, so as far as metallic weapons, magical enchantments will most likely not be happening.

So staffs, bows and arrows then? Plus the odd weird druidic weapon.
