Re: Age bracket update possibility?
I've played games like that before, Eagalon, and my character wound up being thousands of years old...
I'm pretty set on the real time thing. If you don't play a character for 10 real life years, then I'd imagine you weren't that attached to it in the first place.

Re: Age bracket update possibility?
I'm sorry if that came off a bit harsh by the way, it's just, that this isn't a "I'll try to remember" kind of thing, it's policy, it's been policy since the day we first had someone actually try to RP a little kid. As soon as we noticed it was going on, we put it in there, it's been in th...

Re: Age bracket update possibility?
I have some ideas on how I'd like to make an aging advancement system available to everyone, along with a one time age advancement available for legacy players that predate it if they wish to opt-in.

Re: Introduction system
It is something I want, but the amount of work to implement it is not feasible at this time.
Perhaps in the distant future when a few of the more priority code rewrites (item, character, room, and critter handling) are done.

Re: THINK and RITUAL
Basically nothing that would imply giving you a wound, without actually giving you a wound.
If you're going to act out stabbing yourself in the hand, you should be taking energy loss and damage in your hand. If you're not, then you're bypassing mechanics by doing it.

THINK and RITUAL
The THINK and RITUAL commands are really great to let us know what you're doing. Especially considering we can't be everywhere at once, especially for those of you who play in vastly different time zones. THINK and RITUAL are logged to our discord server and emailed to us in our daily event reports....

Re: The Masterful Conundrum
I personally don't see the problem with a smith producing thousands of items without getting a masterful (though I feel that's an exaggeration, hundreds more like it). Masterful aren't supposed to be uber common. I like the idea of only being able to get it on an initial forge from raw materials. I'...

Re: Knights of the Wyrvardn
I'm hyped for the RP opportunities your meeting will bring. It's unfortunate that it'll happen at a time of day where I am unavailable to observe it real time, but just so you know, I think ya'll are great and I hope ya'll have fun with your Wyrvardn meeting. Thanks for showing initiative and postin...

Re: Knights of the Wyrvardn
Yay Wyrvardn meeting! Honest question - why do people keep calling them knights? The title is in the name. Guardians of the people! I'm pretty sure they're not actually knighted in any technical sense. This. If anything, given Morcant's history with the Knights Templar, he probably wouldn't want to...

Re: Cleanlyness is close to morale bonus
It's a cool idea, but I'm not really looking to add abilities to the morale system. It's primarily meant to encourage optional activities and IC actions that everyone has access to and help bring life and realism to the world rather than focusing in the same loop of kill, loot, heal, repeat. It's no...

Re: Death about to become more dangerous
The wording when you pay changes depending on if you've fully paid it off or still have partial debt left. Its left intentionally vague to allow people to overpay and get more riln out of the system, but if you pay close attention to how they react when you pay it should be obvious.

Re: Patreon Perk Guidelines and FAQ
Do to constant criticisms from multiple sources about my server being too expensive, the Patreon program has been cancelled. I will still honor any existing perk requests for previous months but will no longer be accepting donations of any kind for the CLOK project.

Re: Death about to become more dangerous
Temporary cavern collapses are based off of a timer, and if you are unfortunate enough to be inside of one when it collapses, you will see the following message: Suddenly the entire area collapses around you! You are crushed by tons of falling rock and debris! Along with taking 1250 damage to a rand...

Re: Death about to become more dangerous
Actually, on second thought, they dig, don't mine. And search through the code for 'timers' shows that the only time a cave-in timer occurs is on mining, not digging, so, no, guess a bowtruckle didn't cause it.
You seriously must have just missed it, sorry dude.

Re: Death about to become more dangerous
Dug into the code to see if we have a problem here. I was a bit skeptical, but was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and correct it if a bug existed. Results of my research, however, are that cave ins and gas leaks are two entirely separate functions. Cave-ins can only happen if a 'timers' va...

Re: VI friendly energy management
Huh, I don't remember adding that to policy... Makes sense though, There was a time where several people were starving to death trying to keep the population bonus running, and there was a time when we were maxing out on CPU usage. I'm not necessarily going out of my way to enforce it though. Do so ...

simply having an alarm that every so often inputs fatigue command. this is also against the afk policy, if any other sort of idling script is running. To summarize everything I've said in the last 30 minutes, this is super super direct, so, spoiler warning I guess... ... Spacing for spoilers ... I'll go ahead and say talk about it if y'all want. I think my asking folks to keep quiet about it is kinda harmful. I just like people figuring out stuff, but it's not some super puzzle or anything, though Delve's post did make me laugh and makes me regret not making it more difficult. It's just a s...
