Re: Calling All Blacksmiths!

Casting is more in the smelting department. (Not something we are doing in these descriptions) Once again we get some real life to game vagueness but you don't really need to work copper or bronze the same way you would iron or steel but for the sake of the game and the process we just sort of 'assu...

Re: Calling All Blacksmiths!

Looks good! Just a few points to consider though. '[add your crafting mark, ] ' I currently do not have a special word to plop in the crafting mark and there is also the situation where they may not have a crafting mark or have it turned off. In this case it would work if I left it blank but it is s...

Re: Calling All Blacksmiths!

Correct, the new system was designed to be backwards compatible with the old. This will allow existing weapon parts to be carried into the new system. So no problems taking your masterfully-crafted celestium longsword blade from the old system and finishing it with the new.

For now just existing weapons. However, I do have a few mystery items that are waiting to be discovered when this is released. I plan to do the text for those myself to keep them extra mysterious.

Yep, good typo catch. Also keep in mind that the middle message gets repeated 5 times as you work on the item.

Calling All Blacksmiths!

As many of you may be aware we are currently developing an entirely new forging system. This system is currently in the beta stages and will most likely change before release but I felt I would share some of the upcoming changes and present an opportunity for you, yes you, the player to leave your m...

Re: Being able to edit a request and not lose place in queue

The numbering system is used to denote a referencing point such as, "I am going to handle number 23" and it is used to help us see which request is older and may have gone unattended longer.

Re: Weapons with metal hafts

There is code in the works that will render this concern into a moot point but, for now, to address this specifically: Wooden hilts and hafts have always been a shortcoming in the process to begin with. They are far easier to make, (given that woodworking in general is easier to raise) far lighter a...

Re: Being able to edit a request and not lose place in queue

The order of the request does not in anyway affect it's priority. Number 1000 will get the same attention as number 1. What DOES affect the priority, is which GM can handle a specific request and how busy that particular GM is and how urgent is the request. For example, "HELP HELP I AM STUCK IN...

To clarify, feel free to mail him but don't expect him to know anything about those creepy sorcerers. He just waits the tables and serves tea to those in the sitting room there. OOC'ly though, if you wish to join the Rook Parlour, then look for another player character. This faction is not joined vi...

Re: Death about to become more dangerous

The above change has been modified with the release of the new death system. As a GM team we are committed to keeping the details of the new changes as something not disclosed to the public and would ask that others please not share such information in an out of character way. However I will say, as...

Of course the outpost will always welcome the shunned and afflicted who would pledge themselves to its ruler. These kinds of people would normally be scorned in other places but in Corvus they can walk about the filth covered streets with their heads held high knowing that Winston cares. They can ev...

Re: Faceted Jet

When it came to what can be faceted and what cannot be, we tried to be as true to life as possible while still maintaining a game balance. To that end, actually ANYTHING can be faceted. Heck you can even facet fossilized dung, called coprolite. (image below). Early in the game coal could be faceted ...

Re: Evan the blacksmith

Iron and steel items are a taboo to be sure. But if you have some minor embellishments on your clothing, I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't flaunt them or make a fuss with them. Now if you are caught brandishing iron weapons or clanking into town with full steel plate, then we will have a problem.

Re: Task Targets and Janitoring

This is something being considered for a few different corpses in general. For example the same thing can happen if you somehow managed to kill a drakolin but ended up bleeding to death in the next room. So you get brought back only to find that the corpse has magically vanished and all that effort ...

Re: Half-Swording.

It is a cool technique and once a long time ago something like this was considered. Sadly, we also have to consider a balance between reality and game mechanics. As it stands swords are the most fleshed out weapon type in the game. They have more types than any other, they have several abilities whi...

I have been taking a look at the old ClokGear Mudlet plugins suite (try to say that 5 times real fast) and have been making a lot of changes and improvements including bigger font sizes, un-used tab changes and other 'fun'™ things yet to be revealed. With that in mind I would like to ask you, the co...

Re: Swashbuckling to work with cutlasses

This basically comes down to an issue of game vs reality. I agree that it makes sense for a cutlass to be used with a style of combat called, "swashbuckling" however the problem comes from game balance as the weapon was actually a copy of another weapon (with small changes) that would not ...
