You may Acarin, Rias has said otherwise. Maybe you can change Rias's mind, I could not.Acarin wrote:I would still consider them combat oriented.

Does that mean Thaumaturgy and Channeling are going to be changed or are they exceptions to the rule?

Faded Numbers..
A simply question and I hope there are simple answers. Which Guilds currently do not have active members of note? I am not asking known of the guild ICly but in general.

Re: Studying the Elements
It sounds like you are describing the current tasks for Elemancers. Why not either have them have gains depending on the task or have in the shop 'Personal notes' which are a GP+Riln item which will give a point or two in a the desired element, this will only be good for one use and will have to buy...

Re: my thoughts on the nerfed knapping
I don't really see the issue here. Knapping was for making crude weapons, not good weapons. If people wish to be attached to the title of master and exceptional than I suggest that a tweak is in order, I am sure there can be a middle ground. Lessen the price of all stone weapons to show their lower ...

Re: Studying the Elements
You know well that I've already made it clear the University is not a combat school, nor do they have any significant focus specifically on combat applications. A non-combat alternative for skillups is still something we want, we just haven't come up with anything yet. Will you return the books to ...

If they don't wish to listen to other's idle thoughts, why do they wear a pendent? I thought the purpose of ESP was to talk about: things to buy, have something crafted, start a hunting expedition, etc...
Re: Pressure
Alternately could the mixture of pyromancy and hydromancy become the basis or power of a steam engine as long as the Elemancer maintained channelling focus?

Re: Studying the Elements
Seeing as studying the book are now not a possible way true pacifistic Elemancers can gain elemental skill, will a new way be offered or is Elemancy skill ranks orientated for violence rather than knowledge?

If you walk into my shop dripping with blood and chunks of something you killed and smelling worse then a barn I would shoot you for ruining my once clean floor or calling the watch as a lune just walked into my store after killing what looks like two dozen travellers.

Re: Where do you hunt?
Can they be caught in the town setting? I guess I haven't run across that yet but I don't see anyone in the towns that would catch me and I don't get any skill ups for stealth unless I am preforming combat related actions. Can we get a way to increase stealth without ambushing things? There are Urb...

Expanding Research
I would like to know if Rooks are currently being looked into for expansion. I wish to ask before posting ideas to know if they are welcome at this time or if the To-Do list is as bad as I remember it is from adding in the current systems and revisions. If there is a free hand to work on them, I wou...

Re: Who can learn the skill
There is very little intent for all players to be locksmiths, for those who have locked boxes and wish to open them, the major towns have a locksmith who will open them for a fee, not even an out of pocket fee at that.

Partly to be expected, this is an alpha mud where everything is optional to change fundamentally or directly removed in short order by the DEVs.

Re: Making steel...a consideration
If you are going for the sake of realism why not also blend in the need for nickel, sulfur and many other elements. For a closer feel towards original steel making multiple different types of iron: wrought iron and cast iron, would be a better step than just nerfing the end results. Lowering it to a...

Re: Nether taint ideas
Acarin, can you offer proof in the form of logs or behind the scenes code to show that any enemies of nether can 'auto-find' a hidden tainted person?
Also talking in caps lock makes you seem more than just a little childish, please stop.

Re: Nether taint ideas
If you think and feel that way then I guess your mind is set up, setting aside what may or may not. Being nether tainted as with any affliction carries bonuses as penalties. Seem 'weak vs thaumaturg users' is one of those penalties. Alpha is Alpha, expect: nerfs, buffs and mechanic changes, often an...

I guess your travels were a short one, was the trip a pleasant one? If I am understanding Rias correctly the 'TL;DR' version of his answer to you is: What you are really suffering from is a mix of: Bad luck, PCs with higher Perception Scores than you are used to, and Environmental Penalties. The bes...

It being something learned and developed is nothing new, that is what different Abilities are for and modeled after depending on how deep into the chain it is and how m...

Re: Nether taint ideas
Tainted being are just that tainted, these are new instincts that they are not forged with so their control of them would be loose and pale compared to true Nethrim beings. I also apologize for being so vague in my last post concerning each of your original points, let me address them directly. 1) N...
