This is very cool. I'm still going to mostly be ranged on my character since I figure that's more thematically appropriate, but I appreciate having the option to do otherwise. Perhaps this can be used to train the melee skill with spell attacks too?

I'm not a two handed weapon user outside of the occasional glaive (I just like glaives), but I will stick my oar in and say yes, armor hindrance penalties are a pain. I trained in heavy armor up to the current soft cap when I normally only wear light armor, and even now I still have about a 23 ...

I've also been playing with this ability and its attached ability (Reflexive Channeling). And I love the ability for the RP and backdrop of magic that it is; namely that of using spooky cold nether magic as a shield rather than lugging an actual shield around. In the interest of Adresin's suggestion (and since we've belabored the point of the problem existing enough, I think) - to build on my last post; instead of hindrance penalty reductions for Rooks/Elemancers/Primalists, perhaps their 'armor specialization' provides a reroll bonus to the channeling ...

I imagine if Rooks and Elemancers and Primalists and any other class specialization is intended to be as proficient in armor use as the Combat Specializations, their class specs would give them a reduction to their armor hindrance penalties.

I've taken a guess at which place you meant and placed a post board there. Most, if not all, guilds should have a post board in their major hubs so if anyone knows of any other major guild ...
