Armor deflection training

Hi,

Currently, deflection can't be set using the combat defense command. Additionally, it seems to roll after parry, which parry doesn't give skill gain for anything.

For training purposes, can one or both of these things be fixed? It would help for those of us trying to train up armor use, which ...

Re: corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?

I've been warned strongly against the sewers, so haven't ventured in there. The places in thaelsh we did check though, were still too low skill.

As for there not being a corprial option, this creates some issues with skilling up for any templar aspirants who are trying to avoid killing the living ...

corporial nethrim after pelos, Redleaf?

After finding I no longer learn from the pelos golems, and the asylum corpses are way too difficult to handle alone, I've been asking around to see where to go next to find corporial nethrim. In the process of running around places with a few people, it seems there really aren't any good options ...

Re: Church Supply Requests

On the subject of avoiding leather...

Slings. Maybe those are already in the church shop, not sure, but even if so is it possible to get an alternative to leather slings somewhere accessible to everyone until it's possible for players to make them? It's literally the only thing that Alia hasn't ...

Re: Rented rooms update!

Inn rooms work the exact same way. This just lets characters whose players like to idle for whatever reason do so if they can't, or don't for character reasons, rent a private space or otherwise have one.

We're in a crowded, at the moment, town with a public spot for sleeping. AFK characters just ...

Mighty winter, boilers, and all that donated wood at the annex?

So, it's possible I'm missing something here, but let me explain a couple of things that got me thinking.

A few months back, the annex started accepting certain things for firewood to be donated. A number of us chopped and hauled for hours, and now everything, except coal of course because where is ...

Re: Rented rooms update!

Hmm. I like it, but the one per account thing makes things interesting storage wise. I get it though.

One question, given this one room per account situation now. Is it possible to make it so that the bunkhouse works like private rooms, in the sense that you can idle there without being booted ...

Re: Upcoming: More deliberate skill advancement

I admit, this disappoints me, perhaps bothers me, just a bit. I'll try to explain why.

I completely understand the general idea of not wanting someone to be able to get skill in anything and everything. Totally get it. Makes perfect sense for most crafts for example, among others.

I do think ...

Re: Melee and Marksmanship skillgains no longer quartered

I just want to say a huge thank you for this. All this time, I thought the very low melee and marksmanship gains were intentional. Annoying, but intentional. While I can't yet speak to the gains, Alia fights mostly nethrim anyway so loot and riln is problematic a lot, I can say that not having to ...

Oh yeah, totally agree. Apologies, then. I thought what you were saying is that you didn't want to put anything in for this at all until you knew exactly how you want it to go for the future. So, appreciate the clarification that this isn't necessarily the case.

I also do want to emphasize that I ...

Re: Ability Unlearn

I'm admittedly sleep deprived, so if any of this comes across confrontational, I promise it isn't meant to.

I completely, totally understand wanting to come up with a system for unlearning abilities that you're happy with before implementing it. In most cases, that makes a lot of sense because ...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans

So, uh, what happened to the gifts that weren't claimed? Some were to active or at least semi active characters who just weren't able to log in during that time. I hope those gifts still exist, somewhere?
Thanks for the tree though, that was such a fantastic thing. :)

Re: Lockbox Loot Observations

Wow! I can say for sure that lower difficulty boxes, stationery, looted or scavenged, have never ever given me even half the amount of what you listed above. In fact more often than not all they have is riln, sometimes even on tumbler boxes. That definitely seems like a lot of items though even for ...

Re: Locksmithing Training

To add to this, my utasa character is very low skill, so she's able to learn from the tasks. However, to my knowledge there is no locksmith skill trainer that Utasa characters can access. Additionally, tumbler locks give no skill gain whatsoever, despite being the ones that take longer to crack ...

Re: Leatherworking returns!

First, a huge thank you for introducing this so soon after the combat abilities, awesome!

I agree about the sinew. It's a great addition since we don't have thread, but forces characters to be pretty wasteful if they want to practice.

Quality needs some work though. My udemi has a leathercrafting ...

I just want to jump in here with the reminder that these abilities came in specifically so we could test them. The armor use fix just came in at the same time.

I'm getting the feeling that some have the impression this is how it's intended, and I just don't think so. Balance is clearly needed, and ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls

So first let me respond to the comment about being able to train up to twice your check. That's not true across the board. Alia is in full plate right now and at the bottom of armor is this.
Armor Hindrance Check: d454 vs 339

Even with that, I can't train armor use at all, and the 339 is only as ...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds

So I noticed something with my Utasa, and I'm wondering if it's intentional.

She's primarily focused on ranged, since she's stealth heavy. However, at least so far, if she were to take the ranged proficiency ability, this would locker her out of the classes utasa can take. Now, we don't have bard ...

Re: GMs want to get in on the player character experience

I love this!

I'm not sure if Alia would necessarily join, it would depend on how it turns out IC. However if allowed that doesn't mean she wouldn't participate in some nethrim cleansing with a group, that'd be fun!

That said, I want to say that I 100% support GMs enjoying the game with their own ...
