I don't know. For me, applying a poultice was something I could imagine in my mind doing if I ever got hurt if I was out surviving. You could make it so that herbs are temporary storage items that last like two days max or so to avoid someone potentially hording herbs, no references intended. A weir...

I think the armored knight though is what people are expecting. I can't personally imagine a flighty character protecting my chest from getting caved in by bandits or having nether thrown at me. I'd personally like this idea but I understand why people might hate it. I could totally use something like this so I could choose to go in and be apart of the event or regret how busy I am due to college and do the mature thing and stay out due to writing papers. But it'd be a really neat idea.

This I think will work well. It feels a little like COGG did but at least there won't be any levels. Will there be tasks for these guilds as well? What's a mercenary to do without official work, after all? I sincerely hope so, there comes a time when you feel a little lost without something to hold ...

Definitely sounds like it's going to be quite the process if metalworking, (still miss the official blacksmith term but I understand it's less accurate) is any indication. This is a pretty interesting discussion. Too bad we can't be known as knights, though. I liked the classification pretty well. But it makes sense, we'd just be the cheap Templar without the magic if we were to refer to the Wyrvardn as knights.
