Schematics timer

Would it be possible for the "schematics" command to indicate how much time is left until a new schematic can be learned, or for a "schematics time" subcommand to be implemented that does the same?

Re: Artisan Only Schematics Marker

I am in favor of this change. It makes it harder for new Artisans - and heck, harder for old-timers - to accidentally teach something that is usually Artisan-specific simply because they forgot that they got a specific schematic from the long, long list of schematics taught by Forgemaster Myles. Cur...

Re: more artisan forges and public forges please

As I have a rented workshop of my own, this does not directly effect me, but I will note that there are a LOT of blacksmiths running around as of late. New and old alike. It would thus seem prudent for various cities and organizations to invest in additional smithing facilities, if the demand for su...

Re: Is it possible to not autoexamine forged items?

While I personally don't have a trouble with auto-examination, it'd be nice for VI players less familiar with squelching to have an option in the options menu that turns this (or even longer descriptions, for finished weapons/armor): You have finished forging an exquisite bronze main-gauche hilt and...

Suggestion: renaming of certain blacksmithing skills/abilities

There are some inconsistencies with some of the below pairs of names. In addition, some names do not fully encompass what the skills are now capable of. These are the current names, for reference: CURRENT NAMES ABILITIES SKILLS ----------- ----------- Blacksmithing Forging: General Blacksmithing: Ar...

Re: Arrowhead Blacksmithing Changes

Noctere (at least I think it's Noctere) decided to remove the pre-req when he noticed that the ability had it - less a bug and more of a miscommunication between GMs, I guess. [CHAT - (a mysterious GM)]: oops, slight error there. [CHAT - (a mysterious GM)]: There, removed the pre-req. Whatever the c...

Re: Arrowhead Blacksmithing Changes

Huzzah! This complaint has now been solved by the new Blacksmithing: Munitions ability. It has no prerequisites - not even Blacksmithing - so if someone JUST wants to make arrowheads (and shot, and crossbow bolts), they can have that instead of the Blacksmithing ability. In addition, the ability cap...

Perhaps making a Woodworking option for wooden hafts that are only compatible with knapped heads would fix this problem?

Blacksmithing adornment requests

Hello, devs! Please consider adding the following to the list of custom blacksmithing adornments. I'd rather you all focus on making the system stable, of course, so by all means, please put this on the back burner until the existing system has its bugs ironed out a little. I don't want to rush anyt...

Arrowhead Blacksmithing Changes

Under the old blacksmithing system, if you wanted to make arrowheads, you needed the "Blacksmithing" ability, as well as a decent Forging: Arrowheads skill. Under the new blacksmithing system, if you want to make arrowheads, you need the "Blacksmithing" ability and the "Blac...

Re: Poll: Ability Point Cap

I like having it at 20, personally. I wouldn't complain about having more, of course, but I think the way it currently is forces you to make some actual choices about your character's build instead of just picking up tons and tons of abilities, which is nice.

Re: Weapons with metal hafts

Considering how many wooden hafted weapons already exist, and considering the large variety of wood-types that exist (which encourages customization), I think the most seamless transition would be to make wooden hafts the same weight as their metal counterparts, rather than the alternative of outrig...

Re: Being able to edit a request and not lose place in queue

I may have misspoke - I meant "remove the request numbers from the user's point of view" and "get rid of words like 'queue' from the command text". That will make it more apparent to old and new users alike that it doesn't cost them anything to remove a request and post it again ...

Re: Being able to edit a request and not lose place in queue

Follow-up suggestion, then - edit the request command's output text so it's more apparent that the queue doesn't matter. Like removing the "place number" and simply displaying the total number of requests, or perhaps getting rid of the numbers from the user's point of view altogether.

Re: Package Labels

Immediately seconding this. Labeling containers - barrels, chests, whatever - would be a godsend for large-scale item organization, especially if all containers could have labels affixed to them. And if the label is placed BEFORE the noun (e.g. a "nails"-labeled chest), that could potentia...

Weapons with metal hafts

Currently, player-made weapons with metal hafts are heavier than ones with wooden hafts, meaning that nobody actually wants metal hafts. I think this is a little sad - wood is nice, but it'd be nice to be have metal hafts that aren't A Bad Idea (mechanically) to use. If the two could be the same wei...

I'd be happy to test, if you need a tester that isn't a GM for some inscrutable reason. Thank you very much for the info on the system as it currently stands, though! That is quite interesting indeed.

Haiban Artisan Workcarts

Currently, the Artisan-only workcarts can be obtained from the warehouses in Mistral Lake and Shadgard, but not in the Artisans' primary city of Haiban. As the Haiban warehouse is currently occupied by a little Church room, I'd recommend adding workcarts to the list of things you can get from the Ar...
