Re: Monks under review
This one might be a non starter but could monks get guild and recognition points for charitable donations? People really do like seeing those numbers go up and it would give a little more incentive to gather resources and work on solo projects. It might also make it a bit easier to give up the idea...

Re: Monks under review
With the rescue templar task re-enabled, you can do some fighting of nethrim, just with a limited focus. But the task description does explicitly say you can deal with any nethrim as necessary.

Re: Templar Rescue
It has been my experience that the task will fail in that way if there is an enemy around any time after the templar regains consciousness and before the templar has regained all their energy. They'll usually defeat whatever nethrim are present (including nether plants) and then leave to get some re...

Re: Interested in becoming a Lorekeeper?
First, apologies for the thread necromancy, but it seemed the most appropriate place to approach this. Since to my knowledge there are no active PC lore keepers, I'd like to find out how joining might work presently. Are any of the Udemi aware of the relevant NPCs to mail should they get come across...

Riversteel smelting
I smelted some of the riversteel I purchased from the irport shop to make a 3-pound bar and it smelted down to steel. Is riversteel supposed to do that? If not, I can fill out a request - I still have a tiny riversteel-bar from the cutting and a standard riversteel-bar from the shop if an item inspe...

Re: The mystery of a ghostly horse
That it was down there is the wierd thing. Vanishing corpse is normal for PC owned mounts though - they magically return to their stable.

Bar molds
I would like to request bar molds to aid in production of odd bar sizes. Functionally similar to existing jewelery molds, and a similar custom order menu could provide all bar sizes currently utilized by forging (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24-pound bar molds). An ideal weight capacity is ...

Re: Water issues in Haiban
The artisan's compound in north Haiban has 3 wash rooms where you can not only wash but dry as well. If that's not enough, a quick wander from the gate should let you wash at the river.

Re: Containers for Huge Items
Artisans have recently been granted the kind of containers you seek. Perhaps you should take your concern ICly to a group of people that deal with it regularly ;)

Also slings (unless those are artisan leatherworking - I couldn't create one as an unguilded person or member of the snowpine lodge). If quality is a concern, I'm sure they could be capped at average.

Re: Time and facilities
I've wanted that as well on occasion. My suggestion would have been for effect rather than time, but time might make more sense given that effect timers stop when logged out while rents keep counting down. The most useful thing I could see from this though is being able to get 2 rounds of processing...

Re: For Humor
For our VI community members, the previous post features a gif of a man dressed in furs and holding an axe walking to the edge of tall grass and then getting riddled with multiple dozens of arrows. He drops dead and looks like he doesn't have a square inch of the front of his body without an arrow i...

Re: A newbie critique on traveling, hunger, and cold
I seem to have a different take than some of the others reading. Maeriwyn has written a lengthy and thoughtful post with observations, and I will add in a much less aggressive or whiny tone than many of the complaint posts I've seen. The post is a critique, not even a complaint, so hold off on those...

Re: Choosing between your characters
I tend to have two characters to balance where one is a loner and another is not. That makes the question of which to play become "do I want to interact with other players?" and I usually know the answer to that one. You could try to come up with a similar question that divides your two ch...

Think dangerously
I've been thinking about a recent comment from a GM in chat that their least favorite activity is creating NPCs because inevitably somebody kills them to demontrate whatever. I have a two-part recommendation to handle that issue: Part 1: <attack crowd> This would work very similarly to steal crowd, ...

Re: Perception gains from finding items
You don't get perception gains for finding hidden entities if they are fiendly or neutral. You only gain perception from finding hostile entities because of the risk-reward principle that underlies the game. Finding items, like finding friendlies/neutrals, carries no risk (and is already a reward). ...

Request: cafeteria upgrade
Just wanted to make a formal request since there are so many elemancers about of late. I believe the cafeteria has been skipped in eatery updates for some time. It doesn't have any sit-down food (which is fine, dorm life is eat on the run) and it also lacks seating and tables. If anyone has the powe...

Re: Monks under review
After a little while of playing a monk, my thoughts are these: - The herbalism tasks feel like they pre-date the change to grinding giving no skill gains. I'd recommend the grind based tasks give a flat 0.2 herbalism gain, or a graded gain (0.1 for inferior, 0.2 for average, 0.3-0.4 for potent). Thi...
