Re: Rethinking the pelt requirement changes

In CLOK we always seek to find a balance between making mechanics realistic and making a game. Let's talk about real world trapping. Trappers would go out into the wilderness (very far away from civilization), giving up all those amenities for weeks or months, in order to be where the animals were. ...

Professions and bugs

If you find a bug while doing a profession, please stop doing that profession, or at least the part of the profession that is bugged. Continuing just makes more work for the GMs, as we will have to try to track down all those little items you made while you were fully aware there was something wrong...

Re: Bugfixes/Changes/Improvements

Unique critters will now have a cooldown time after their death during which they will not respawn. Fish caught by spearfishing will no longer swim away when dropped into water. Cause, you know, they're dead. It is now possible to release caught fish, provided there is applicable water nearby to rel...

On the sturdy worktable you see a bloodstone-studded leather hood.

On the sturdy worktable you see a leather hood stamped with climbing vines.

Some leathercrafting changes

Leatherworking got updated! Mostly this is internal stuff that players would never notice, but it does mean that most items got descriptions based on quality, and there were a few changes with pelt requirements and weights, as well as syntax. While I was at it, I added a few items. A note on pelt re...

Re: Customized descriptions on masterwork items.

So, not saying this will happen (well, it will happen, but it won't necessarily happen how you guys discuss it), but I'd like to bring up a discussion of how to add in customized descriptions to certain items. I have some general ideas in mind, some of which won't be changing: I won't restrict it to...

They shouldn't be going in private homes if they're closed.

All wandering people (including constables in Shadgard) would wander into an open house, I think.

Blocks

Toys and trinkets will now require blocks of wood instead of branches. You can get blocks of wood by chopping split logs.

Re: Lessons become more and more worthless as you skillgain

It also makes sense to keep charging more for this more valuable information. Well, no, the information is not more valuable, it is virtually the same as telling you what you already know. The information is as valuable as somebody is willing to pay for it. But if that isn't convincing, consider th...

Skills aren't meant to increase linearly (in terms of percentage, which is how rolls work), which includes training.

In my opinion, it should be all or none.
I'm of the same opinion (the answer to your question is, "Yes").

It is now possible to add staves (straight branches after the bark has been carved off) to campfires. Characters can now use the esp pulse command to send a brief pulse of their personal ESP ID color over the channel they're tuned to, in order to alert others that they're present and listening. Re: Smelting

These smelting changes are live.

As for the scales - not right now, no.

People really shouldn't be worrying about cutting stuff and risking off-weights if they're going to make alloys.

Smelting

Not technically blacksmithing, but oh well. I have some (slight) changes to smelting ready to roll out, but I wanted to give people a little warning, first. First of all - weights will no longer be restricted to being integers (whole numbers). This is particularly important for smelting alloys, as c...

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans. Enjoy an extra special holiday skill gains bonus.

Oh, and all you non-Americans can have it, too.

All skill gains will be increased starting now through sometime on Friday when it's disabled. These stack with everything else that modifies skill gains.

There are also no skillgains until I figure out where I want to put them.
