Re: Mine Support Suggestion - Lower cave-in % of deep rooms?
Firstly, encumbrance greatly affects your mining rolls. This, I fortunately knew already, though I was not aware to what extent: It's even larger than I thought! Second, supports do greatly decrease the chance of cave-ins already. This, I was not aware of! And it's very good to hear! Does this also...

Mine Support Suggestion - Lower cave-in % of deep rooms?
This is a long post with a simple suggestion. There's a TL:DR at the bottom. At the moment, mine supports are useful in that they in that they cause the room to decay twice as slow, and also provide the ability for the room to be dug out and last for a longer time between re-digging the room. I sti...

Re: Campfire Burntime
Chop down trees! Your fire will last forever.
I'm only being half sarcastic: One single tree will probably light a fire for an entire day if you wanted to sit there for 24 hours straight, although it obviously takes a lot of work to get it to the point where you can start adding logs.

Just wanted to say I enjoyed the interactions last night: A particular shout out to the Dunwyr! At the risk of sounding stupid, I totally thought those were staff animated NPCs until the whole thing was over. I love getting to interact with player villains!

Re: Shopping: Containers and multiples of furniture
You mean you want to be able to order multiple chairs and have them automatically go into the handcart? Does it work to buy them and them put them into the handcart separately, or is that problematic too?

Re: Bosses and Sub-bosses
More to the point of OP, the topics of risk vs. reward and increased challenges for players providing larger rewards has been a persistent topic over the years. Clok, by and large, does not possess many systems that reward combat-oriented players with powerful gear or loot. I think that stems from a...

Re: Player Mine Changes
I noticed that you posted there's a mine-size penalty that causes greater amounts of caveins and gas leaks. I recently broke into the 30 total rooms mark, and I've noticed that no matter what layer i'm mining in, I'm getting frequent caveins. Frequent as in once every few minutes, and a master mini...

Not at all, the code is yours to do as you wish! I'm glad you like it: I've done a lot of scripting in MUSH and I'm a coder for a living, so it comes a little easier to me. That said I still spent 3 solid hours on it and almost quit. Realizing that there was a windows help .chm file (as opposed to j...

VIPMud - Chainwalk
Someone mentioned wanting a chainwalk style command for VIPMud today and nerd sniped me hard. Got it to work though. Note: This is the first thing I've ever created for VIP Mud, so if there's a more effective way to provide it, or something blatantly obvious needs to be added, let me know if you cou...

Re: Player Mine Changes
When you say "picture a square around your mine entrance" do you really mean a cube, in that digging 'down' is still travelling in that direction?
As well, I'm picturing that this means the best way to get the 'rarest' materials will be to dig in a single direction, correct?

My existing rooms were able to be upgraded! I have not yet expanded again since, so maybe there's a bug with newly created rooms as per merin's post. But thank you!

Re: Prepping for the re-release of player mines
I didn't have a player mine before the change, but after digging out the entrance, I then dug out the first room to the point where it changed from its starting appearance as "a small hole" to "a narrow tunnel." I broke through to another room, and experienced the same. After the...

Re: Would you rather....
Rarer high-value ores and gems would be extraordinarily rare in the new system and you'd be better off visiting a monster-populated hunting area mine to gather anything of significant value like diamond or cobalt (risk vs reward). Just for clarity, is it already the case that monster-infested mines...

Roc lifted me and my horse
I got lifted by a roc and carried to its nest, except it took my horse with me. Two things are noteworthy about this. 1. I had to dismount and re-mount again before the game fully realized I was still mounted. I couldn't charge, but I couldn't mount either. 2. My horse can't leave the spot as the on...

Abandoned horse was taken to "Stone Canyon Stables"
I died to some nasty things in stone canyon a couple of weeks ago, and my horse was abandoned there as I didn't have the wherewithal to go get it that night. Later, I got a mail from "Stone canyon stables" saying that they had my horse, like a normal stables would. Except, I don't think th...

Re: MUSHClient - Chainwalking
Hence why there's a command to stop chainwalking whenever you want! This is primarily useful if you find yourself consistently moving a wagonload full of ore/trees/etc down the same path repeatedly. It gets old repeating the same path dozens of times, and if you're not focused on the specific direct...
