Furnace Item Limits - Transfer vs. get/put

INITIAL EDIT: So I just found this thread that seems to indicate this behavior is definitely a bug. I'll leave the rest of the post below just for posterity. ORIGINAL POST: There's another thread about furnace item limits that I found, but it doesn't address the following behavior directly, which se...

MUSHClient/Mudlet - Format Gear worn as list

This is a simple MUSHClient trigger that separates the gear displayed when looking at someone to be shown line by line, as opposed to in a paragraph. I'm used to the visual movement of gear from top to bottom, and this helps me greatly when I'm trying to get the proper visual look for a character. H...

Re: task areas

I'll admit I spent quite a time trying to find that spot myself tday, when someone died in a path and I was trying to find their body. I didn't know of that mechanic at the time.

Re: Commitment to support all forms of RP

This was the message I took away from that discussion as well, although I can see how it could have been taken wrongly. Pure text as a communication medium is always difficult to be clear as to your intentions: One thing that's sort of nice about the tone/speech system in game. I appreciate you clea...

MUSHClient users?

How many existing MUSHClient users do we have here? I've started writing some scripts I find particularly helpful (Starting with one that splits up the description of look text into multiple lines) and if anyone else uses MUSHClient, I can port them here for easy access. Is there anyone out there wh...

Re: Briarwood Equestrian

Will the NPC merchants be available during, or after, the general area where horses can be bought?

In particular, will we be able to both buy horses from the event and also train those same horses?

Look <Person> List

It would be really nice to be able to see the worn armor/clothing by a person be displayed in list form, just like the list form of displaying items in a room. It would be extra nice to not only display them in the list of their appearance (From top to bottom, helm first, boots last) but also to dis...

Re: reenabling grinding skillgain

Why does everyone want such a high herbalism skill to begin with? Unless I'm mistaken, ground herb quality impacts the effectiveness of a poultice as well as success rate of foraging. Definitely true for foraging, and it would make sense for the grinding part. I know I find it annoying that despite...

Re: Useful tips.

Tip: Handaxes can't fell trees, but consume less stamina and are faster than a logging axe when used to chop branches off of trees. Okay, I've been trying to see if this is true or how it is for the life of me, and I haven't noticed it. Is this true? I'm getting the same roundtime and energy loss w...

Re: Useful tips.

In addition to weapon, food and bandage, which display specific groups of items your character possesses, the "count" command can be used to display the total number of any subset of objects in your possession, like specific herbs.

Re: reenabling grinding skillgain

YES. Agreed. I made the mistake of training herbalism once I hit 80, I think? Not knowing that the ONLY way to raise the skill at that point is just to make poultices and nothing else. Not foraging. Not grinding. Just physically making a poultice. This was two weeks ago and I still haven't complete...

Re: Clok command lag, feedback from those who quit.

Just chiming in to say that even though I haven't played Clok in months, I still log on every now and then to see if the command lag is fixed or even remotely reasonable. Still no luck yet. As Dorn accurately described (and I believe to be one of the people in his circle he's referring to), I don't ...

Re: About heavy armor, and roundtime

I'm not familiar with Discworld and its command delays, but if that's a coded feature I think it's different than Clok's server lag, which is most certainly unintentional and also a performance issue at its core. For example, when connecting to discworld and poking about on the login screen I get a ...

Re: About heavy armor, and roundtime

Yeah, it's definitely noticeable and frustrating coming from any other mud, because it really doesn't feel responsive. To be honest, it actually was one of the primary reasons why I didn't stick around, but I'm still very intrigued by the sheer breadth of the game and the active development on it. T...

Yeah, I'm east coast, and on the network I'm at currently I'm getting 23ms ping to clok. ping clok.contrarium.net Pinging clylla.contrarium.net [67.23.247.154] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 67.23.247.154: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=55 Reply from 67.23.247.154: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=55 Reply from 67...

Re: About heavy armor, and roundtime

Alright, follow-up post time, hopefully this'll be a bit more useful and less bulky. First off, I apologize if I caused any problems with the game. I noticed the flooding update change preventing more than 3 commands being sent a time: I definitely didn't intend to exploit anything and I tried to av...

Re: About heavy armor, and roundtime

This might be an unnecessary thread necro, but I wanted to ask a question as a player who made a character a while ago but then put it on the back burner. The delay between commands reaching the server and actually being executed is really noticeable to me, and is probably one of the primary reasons...
