Re: Burning away nether?
I guess the thing I'm forgetting is that the light/heat is apparently not impacted by the nether. I don't entirely understand this however, as they MUST be reacting in some way in order to physically interact. Thought I'd pitch in here that Nether appears to have a natural tendency to dissolve/disa...

Re: Burning away nether?
I'm sorry you don't like Shadow Orb. It's one of my favorite assassin abilities, and even with the tradeoff (tipping someone off that there's someone there due to the presence of the orb) I've found it range from very useful (especially in conjunction with cloak) to being a virtual "I Win"...

Re: Burning away nether?
Considering nether is not solid (it's described as somewhere between liquid and gas), it's not going to have much stopping power against concentrated thaumaturgy such as Sunbeam or Spear of Light, or against fire. If the nether had its pattern altered similar to Rasui's Cryosorcerous Disc, that wou...

Re: Guild of Thieves recruitment issues
I just wanted to say that I really like the way thieves are being handled now. It gives the same sort of feel as entrance interviews for monks/templar, the other completely impossible to get into other guild that won't be mentioned, or the former way Corvus/Shar was handled (possibly others like Uta...

Re: Burning away nether?
Also, If you prefer more "realism", I can have shadow orbs lose density over time when someone with Halo, Minor Beacon, or Fire Shield is nearby, and eventually have the orb disappear. Shadow Orbs should probably also degrade over time in warmer climates and weathers, if we're going down t...

Re: Burning away nether?
I asked along this line simply because I was wondering if a Rook summoning a 2 foot thick wall or equivalently thick aura of fairly dense nether would be able to shield them from a thaumaturgic blast, for example, by simply providing such a density of nether that fire/thaumaturgic light would be una...

Re: Burning away nether?
I've been thinking about this a bit. I'm a bit curious about the general rate that thaumaturgy burns away nether. I assume that it can't be as exceedingly fast as I've always assumed since thaumaturgic healing doesn't instantly kill nethrim. If thaumaturgy is directed at "pure" nether, how...

Re: Living cells and shields
i think this is actually any issue with all dorms and not one that seems particularly problematic as not all guilds even have living cells... As a work around, you can always store your shield in the vault.

Combat bug
Been having this bug a lot while trying to fight (with the new coyotes and other critters as well). It was worse when Pluginstats was on, but I turned that off and this still happens. Too long to bug in game so here it is. battle You prepare to engage in glorious battle! (Type stop to stop auto-batt...

Re: Masterfully Crafted
When weapon and armor breakage is implemented, I would suggest increasing the chances of making masterful items as they really won't stick around too long... at least at that particular quality. Your call though.

Fur and leather armor are the same unless this has been changed.
There are also 2 types of scale leather. Leather scale fits between leather and rigid. Metal scale... no idea but my guess would be between brig and chain.

I've really enjoyed this. It shows me that the boards can still be as entertaining as cool game mechanics like weight measurement error.

Re: Scales
the original kilogram prototype (1799) was found to have a mass deviating from that of 1L of Vienna Standard Mean ocean water by 25 parts per million . Also, I assume this was under SATP conditions, i.e. 1 atm and 25 C? Can we accurately measure these in Clok? If so, I'd like to see the appropriate...

Re: Scales
As a biologist, I'm all too well aware of this. Please, call me Dr. Acarin from now on. However, as I said before, I think its role in weight measurements on a scale as proposed to be implemented above, should be FAR less significant than you propose in Clok's setting, because... This should be an ...

Re: Scales
I call bunk on this "residual variability", or at the very least on its significance. Even a minimally sophisticated scale shouldn't suffer from residual variability on the low level of precision required here. Friction in the tipping mechanism, miniscule measuring errors in the length of...

Re: Scales
Due to residual variability in measurement, the true weight of any object is unknowable. I'd still like to see some variability in measured weights even if scales are implemented. Maybe the variability in estimating weight without scales could be made to be higher if scales are added, with scales st...
