I don't think skill penalties should be noted when examining armor. Lets leave some things to be discovered.

Re: Skill gain in offensive tactics
I'm trying to say that tactic offense causes a minor increase in attack and a huge drop in defense. It's not a great tactic unless you need to go into it for an ability. I'd like to see it brought up to be more like other tactic. Instead of getting rid of skill gains, providing a decrease in defense...

Re: Skill gain in offensive tactics
I don't necessarily agree with this change but I assume it's done so no discussion there. What I've always had an issue with is the roll changes provided by each tactic: tactic none - baseline normal rolls tactic parry - half offense, double parry, no dodge tactic dodge - half offense, double dodge,...

Is there currently a scratch command?
scratch head
scratch chin
scratch back
scratch junk
I'd use this sort of thing all the time.

Re: Suggestions for balancing.
There are already diminishing returns as skills increase. A skill of M:3000 versus D:1500 gives the same results as M:200 versus M:100. The difference is, I need to gain 1500 additional ranks instead of 100 ranks. This is huge as far as diminishing returns. To fight a drakolin in a fairly safe manne...

Re: Dwaedn as glass cannons
I actually think that this is a very good idea. Make a series of optimized artificial tester characters from each guild. Place each into a series of scenarios and test each. The data collected from a balance perspective would be extremely useful. Maric and Zuki were considering testing templar versu...

Re: One-time only ability reset
As someone (Zuki) who has been sapped and killed in the woods for a rather insignificant reason (not that I've never done anything like this myself), I can certainly say that sap is not always used responsibly. It's a kill button that requires pretty much no preparation or setup (far less checks tha...

Re: Brawling Rebalance
I just tried brawling on some approximately like skill critters for the first time since the changes (their dodge is actually about 30% weaker than my off) and in tactics none where I should be getting up to 9 strikes, I'm getting long strings of only a single strike (I've seen up to 11). This is ve...

Re: Brawling Rebalance
So brawling focus now grants the ability to use disarm when unarmed. Are we going to get disarm back as a brofist guild skill or will we be required to learn melee focus in addition to brawling focus to learn disarm?
Any chance of getting a weapon spec:brawling skill as well?

Re: Brawling Rebalance
My only concern is whether brofist abilities like headbutt will still proc as before with the same frequency. I assume they probably will, but just wanted to make sure. Does the 9th strike for a brofist also do a little bit of extra damage like the 10th did before? I'd also like to voice my concern ...

Re: Tutor Command and Use Adjustments
Yeah, tutoring usually means you're teaching someone to fight or do a task just like you, and they're teaching you techniques they learned, not they're trying to mimic your skills and make you both suck at whatever you're teaching. Another thing, tutor is way too inconvenient. It gives you the same...

Re: Identifying wounds
Tiiiime to necro! I was looking for a good thread to post some ideas I had for first aid and this would be an amazing first step. One big problem I can see here is that weapons do different types of damage. A long sword can do piercing damage, or slashing damage, or hacking damage I think? But the ...

Oh no! Shadow strike is not coming back? Oh well. Time to move on.... after this: I would like to see a version of this with a huge energy drain for a single rehide after an attack. Maybe use 20 - 30 energy to attempt to attack and rehide once. Sometimes all it takes is a huge energy cost to balance...
