Re: Task Ideas

Maybe a bit more doable than the other ideas in this thread... Would be awesome if joining up with the merc patrols in Ebon Pass would net us guild points. Base it on damage to targets. Bonus for kills. Also would be awesome for a bigger variation of Merc patrolmen. Meaning, maybe they make runs to...

True. Or maybe a dead porcupine?

No one dies like Taric!

Sorry, but Zuki is obviously a honey badger. It's in my title.

Also, Taric = porcupine.

Re: Abilities requiring Weapon Masteries:Ideas

This seems really asian in design. You're probably referring to Iaijutsu, which heavily relies on the shape and design of the katana. I doubt this sort of thing could be done with any of the heavier swords or a short sword, longsword, broadsword, rapier, etc. I like the idea but I just can't think o...

Tactics: Submission The brawler attempts to use locks and control techniques in combat. Reduces brawling combo by half, but will attempt to execute a hand lock, wrist lock, arm lock, or clinch/head/neck lock after each combo (basically these could have the same effect, dropping the opponent to some ...

Re: Ability idea: Quicksell

I think this would be more reasonable if it was limited to town environments, i.e. Hamlets, and town like guilds (Dwaedn Vil), etc. If you're in a mine or the middle of the wilderness, do you really expect to be able to find a buyer? Anywhere would be a little bit strange. I can see people in the ha...

Re: Have roleplay-related questions about characters? Ask he

Happened with Acarin in his monk to XXXX transition. I'd say such things can be a viable route. As far as OOC suspicion, no one thinks it will work for you *wink wink* By the way, there are certainly major cities that are safe havens for even the infested. It's never you against the world unless you...

Re: Have roleplay-related questions about characters? Ask he

You could pursue that resen route again... perhaps an infested elite anti-udemi counterforce is under development... Of course, probably not. Get in good with them. Become a symbiote. Changing guilds IS possible. Two have done it including myself (Acarin). It's just very very very very very unlikely...

Re: Battle Tournament!

Anyone know if smaller rocks are available for slings that do less damage? Maybe this is something a sling user would have to come in to the tournament with. I don't want to disallow slings entirely if avoidable (they're kind of nasty for heavily armored people so it could make things fun watching a...

Re: Battle Tournament!

Well, the 40 was a random cutoff, but the idea would have been to disallow weapons that do risky damage. Lighter weapons usually come with more strikes, so I think a heavily damaged version of those would be fine as well. I still want to entirely the outlaw warmaul, etc. I think the best way to go a...

Re: Battle Tournament!

I've been told that they are working on non-lethal combat and was actually told at one point that a tournament like this may need to wait until then. I'm not saying that this will be risk free, but I think it is still doable and got word that this could be supported to some extent. Besides, I like t...

Re: Battle Tournament!

Thinking about this more, I think a free-for-all with no divisions is probably the best idea. We'll bracket people based on how close I feel they are to hitting a pre-appointed target (probably myself unless the GMs are able to provide something such as npcs) in a qualifying round. I will then brack...

Re: Battle Tournament!

Thanks for volunteering your help, Alexander. This is certainly not a bloodbath and combat will be stopped once either a moderate or bad wound is sustained. You are correct in that it is intended to be a sporting event. That being said, I have always stopped combat for bad wounds or above in the pas...

Battle Tournament!

Hi All, I know there's a decent amount of sparring that goes on in game, and I'm planning to organize a tournament to make friendly non-lethal combat a more official thing for those that want to participate. This will be everyone's chance to show off their amazing combat prowess. The location will b...

Re: Regarding Security

Considering that I cannot sneak into any other town due to guard animals and huge perception penalty gatehouses, it bothers me that this is allowed in Corvus. Any chance a perceptive guard or two could be added, or the room with the guards can be made one of those almost unhidable types? Unless it i...

Re: Regarding Security

I've seen them as well if I'm correct in what you're referring to. Security still seems to be an issue to me. Just my opinion. It seems like a lot of people have been able to bypass Corvus guards very easily, although I could be wrong about this.

Re: General Ability Ideas

Using the momentum and weight of your weapon I guess I wasn't very clear. But then I was also imaging stuff like pommel/hilt smashes, haft, etc, basically whatever you could right at that moment very quickly to take advantage of a slight opening that wasn't big enough to follow up with a proper str...

Re: General Ability Ideas

Isn't there already an armor mastery ability that reduces armor penalties/hindrance to some extent. I think Templars and Wyrvardn had this. Maybe others too. Regarding momentum, this would not make sense to me. A parried or dodged committed attack would leave the wielder more open, not the target. I...

If you want to do minimal damage as I would think one would in most situations where a carved weapon is being used, shoot for lower quality.

Re: Infested logging camp

I agree with Dorn on this and second his request. The bowmen make the loggers near impossible to hunt and the loggers are definitely needed right now to fill a rather large gap in training, especially with the recent skill gain change to tactic offense. I'd prefer to see bowmen and sentries in one a...
