Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
I agree, persons' emotions, feelings, and perceptions can be very fickle. Oftentimes, we allow them to affect our own actions (and the actions of our characters) without realizing it. That said, anybody's participation or lack thereof in this open forum should not be misconstrued as an admission of ...

Re: Woops I missed that tell
I agree this could often be helpful. I've seen a system in other games where typing "tell" without an argument would do just that: display the last 30 tells or so. Maybe 30 is too much, but ten would be a reasonable amount, I'd think. There was a similar function with the chat command, as ...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Thank you for your generous participation, Vidor. Certainly, you can have your own opinions and concerns about what happens in the community, just as anyone else. I know it is sometimes difficult to discuss them for some, but your willingness to participate is encouraging to them, I'm sure. Nobody i...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Certainly, using tells to ask other players for justification of every single IC action as they happen in real time would be unrealistic and unreasonable. I don't believe anybody has proposed such a thing. However, doing so when there is a clear discrepancy or misunderstanding would be an understand...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Indeed, any and all participation in the BBS is optional, including this forum. Nobody is demanding that you or anyone else take part in any open discussion, but everybody is welcome to contribute equally as they see fit for the betterment of the community. That is the benefit to free speech and ope...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Thank you for your dignified contribution, Vidor. Yes, I agree that the truthfulness and validity of player concerns is ultimately irrelevant. However, they can be easily dispelled, whether warranted or not, by being addressed with due regard. This is why I am encouraging the participation of the co...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Once again, thank you to everyone who has participated in this open forum so far. I want to encourage further discussion by highlighting and addressing (with my own thoughts, of course) a few of the concerns I've seen stated here. Firstly, some people have stated that they are concerned that a playe...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
As an aside, I find it amusing (despite my best efforts at making him be a special snowflake!) that Vaylon and Jaster are similar in personality. Yet I bet most people here wouldn't dream of treating Jaster the way they treat Vaylon. Yes, I certainly do find that interesting. I've had similar thoug...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Thank you for voicing your concerns, Vaylon! They are very much appreciated. I understand how you feel in some respects. I, too, have had occasions where other characters have been able to utilize: 1) OOC knowledge to treat my character unfairly, or 2) Knowledge gained through bugs to treat my chara...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
I would like to point out that I have no reason to distrust anything I have heard. I personally have no bones in this fight, other than that it relates to CLOK and the health of the game. However, I was contacted OOCly by a player who I have had no OOC contact with outside of occasional tells in gam...

Re: Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Thank you for your contributions, Jirato! I appreciate your devotion to unwavering fairness in this game. So, please don't just jump to radical assumptions. Certainly, this is why I was speaking hypothetically when addressing GM involvement, and expressed my trust in the GM staff thus far. I apologi...

Wars and rumors of wars (OPEN FORUM!)
Hi ya'll! Your friendly neighborhood Jaster, here! I'd like to discuss some pressing issues and concerns (displeasures) I have with certain alleged events happening both in and out of game. Please read my post in its entirety before replying. As the title of my topic implies, I have heard of some wa...

Re: Dead Count
I sincerely apologize! I don't think we need a "well we're just better off without those people" mentality. What we need is a "we should really stop and think about this design choice before we alienate certain populations of the playerbase" mentality. I trust the GMs and am sure...

You can, in fact, have pets.
You just have to give birth to them first.

Re: Dead Count
So, because they shouldn't cater to people who blow up over relatively minor things, it would be better for them to change relatively major things to give relatively reasonable people something to blow up over?
Well, why didn't somebody just say that to start with? It makes sense now. Relatively.

Why not? If something so little could make somebody quit, don't you think something even more annoying could make more people quit? Simple logic.preiman wrote:let's not use people who don't want to wash as an example

Re: Dead Count
I agree with Acarin. Adding something that would make the game more frustrating to the majority of people is never a good idea. I've known players who have quit playing THIS game for even less frustrating things than losing their items or permadeath (having to wash off before being able to order fro...
