Re: Why I Stopped Playing CLOK
I think the biggest issue is the grind and how we are expected to handle that. A lot of changes and nerfs go in related to the grind, and if we didn't have to grind combat as much we wouldn't have to deal with the wounds as often so that would be less an issue. What would CLOK be like if the skills...

Why I Stopped Playing CLOK
The first time I stopped playing CLOK I was in a bad spot in my life and suffering from burnout so I didn't say anything. This time my life is fantastic, but I just stopped logging into CLOK and never felt the urge to log back in. I've advised other people to voice their concerns as otherwise nothin...

"It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission." - Rear Admiral Grace Hopper (who wrote the first compiler) That's how Elystole operates. Wyatt told him that the Outriders shoot bad guys in the face, so Elystole does that. When that doesn't work, he tries something else that ...

I was unarmored and in Tactic: None. I can't think of anything else that would prevent me from getting dodge gains.

Dodge Gains
What is considered the acceptable tolerances for skill gains? It seems like learning dodge has been made even more difficult than it already was. I use the CLOK Mudlet plugin and have my training skills favorited so that I can watch them on the Skills/Effects tab while I train, and I've noticed that...

Re: Shadgard Outriders - town organization, not a guild
Jirato cleared my guild membership last week since the Outriders are no longer a guild, but the entrance to the lounge still checks for guild membership. Therefore, I can no longer access the lounge and the resources inside.
Is there a way for it to check for organization membership instead?

I could use one hatchet, but not two. I'll have to try it out.
Though hatchets say to me less "I'm going to rough you up," and more "I'm going to cleave your skull." That is what my handaxe is for.

I edited that line out of the log, but I had just walked into the room and was never at melee.

Thanks for all the hard work you do for CLOK. I know you just got hit by a blizzard, but I hope you get to do something fun regardless.

CLOK got weird while I was away. [Destroyed Wagon Interior] (InUr) The entire wagon has been turned on its side, the intended floor and ceiling serving as walls, and the walls as the floor and ceiling - several holes have been hacked into the dark stained wood, allowing moonlight to stream in from o...

Ranged Combat Engagement #13154
I don't think this changed while I was away, so ranged combat shouldn't be enough to keep you from leaving a room, right? In the log you'll see that I was never at melee range, that they only attacked me with ranged and actually failed to close to melee, but I couldn't leave until I broke out of the...

Re: Fun fantasy reading - suggestions?
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynn Jones. It's such a fun, frolicking novel. Quite light-hearted and so easy to read, and the author's love for language is quite apparent. That was a fun book. I've been meaning to get my own copy and the rest in the series. Rias, I have to recommend "The Last ...

Re: "Light" Hafted Weapons?
A work hammer is too heavy. A hatchet might work in a pinch but is a bit too heavy to be ideal.
That and I like the idea of beating people up with sticks when they are a nuisance then switching to a logging axe or sledge when something heavier is warranted.

Re: "Light" Hafted Weapons?
It turns out there is already an item that acts much like I would expect a baton to act. Thing is I've only seen them offered by a merchant once. You carefully examine a knobbly shillelagh walking-stick... This knobbly, dark walking-stick has a somewhat sinister look to it. It is a medium-sized item...

This is something I was considering before generalization and I recommended something like it for the justice system, but now that abilities are generalized I think we have an opportunity for it to work. And it's good for any character who wants to defend themselves but not kill everything that take...

Re: "Light" Hafted Weapons?
Might I request the addition of wooden batons? It'd be great if they could be carved, but I'd be happy to purchase them too.
A 23-24" wooden baton weighs 1.25 to 1.33 pounds and since it is a stick I would expect it to handle more like a hafted weapon than anything else.

Re: "Light" Hafted Weapons?
There isn't really a "light hafted weapon" mechanic or anything, so, that's pretty subjective. I'd say a handaxe would be considered light. I'm asking because of "OOC: When brawling or using light weapons, passive chance to perform known Dirty Tricks when attacking." Are you say...

Re: Hunting with Training Changes
This is something I am trying to figure out for myself. I tried to go training last night at Tanglewood, got hurt, spent twenty minutes waiting for a poultice to heal the wound, went back in, and almost immediately got hurt again. And I can't even make my own poultices anymore. Honestly, the reason ...

Has anyone found a light hafted weapon? How do you even know if a weapon is a light weapon?
I imagine something like a baton, but there could be other things. What about the staves you get when you carve small branches?
