Re: The Road

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Re: Into the rushing waters..

It's so sad that things have gotten so bad that you felt a need to get rid of Lae. She was a wonderful character, one who changed and grew and went through hardships and came out the other side. She could draw in anyone around her, and her pies and invitations to dinner were almost a CLOK tradition....

Re: Ability request: Final resolve

Just because there's a skill penalty (maybe something like being dimmed) or some sort of disadvantage that lasts 12 hours or so (of playtime, I would hope) doesn't mean there can't be a cooldown for it of something like a week or more so that templars can't use it often and save it for truly importa...

Re: Ability request: Final resolve

I think this is a really cool idea, though I'm not sure if it's too overpowered or not. I do disagree with the depart penalty part, but not that there should be a penalty. Some people know how to game the whole depart penalty thing so well that it's barely one at all. Maybe some other kind of disadv...

Re: Introduce/Greet

Also, if it was permanent, what about all the young women with red hair and green eyes? I can think of several right off the bat. How would you tell between them, especially if more than one was in a room? You could make your own custom one, but most people wouldn't, I'd wager. Though all in all, no...

Re: Tone & Speech Additions

Sorry to keep this going, but while scanning the list, another one that pops out: the 'glee' tone should probably be 'gleeful'. And 'conspirator' should be 'conspiratorial'.

I noticed, though, that teasing was fixed. Thank you!

Also, could the tone version of 'teasingly' be switched to 'teasing' instead of 'tease'? That's how most, if not all, of the other ones are, and it throws me off.

Re: Chat-free periods

Totally support this. There's always so much borderline stuff said on chat, and I think it'd help people focus more if they weren't tempted to comment on what's going on so much. It seems especially bad when something like an event is going on.

Re: Emoting

The thing is, CLOK isn't an RPI MUD. It's roleplay-enforced, and people roleplay, and everyone must stay in character, but people also come here to grind skills, kill monsters, craft, forage, dress up their characters, have tea parties with their friends, etc. The roleplay isn't necessarily intensiv...

Re: Emoting

I think the whole adding symbols thing is a bit too complex for CLOK, personally. Though it's easier once you get used to it, it can be a pain in the butt at first and might turn some people off using the command -- not to mention being more annoying to implement and unfriendly to visually-impaired ...

Re: Emoting

I would die of happiness if something like this was ever implemented. This would grant so much more flexibility to emoting, and variety is the key to it AND the point of it. Imagine if GMs were required to start each room description with "This room is," no if's, and's, or but's about it. ...

Ran is definitely a neat character, and always fun to play with! I love how long he stuck with the limits he imposed on the character.

Re: What's your characters tv trope!

Lacie doesn't really have any that suit her completely, she's a lot of some things with other things thrown in, but for one that kind of fits pretty well: The Knight In Sour Armor.

Also, just because, you know she's a Fluffy Tamer. Who's a cute widdle acid-spitting hell-beetle? You are!

Re: Druidry Q and A

All Tse Gaiyan should be interested in fighting the resen, as battling infestations and plagues is one of the reasons the organization exists, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's all they have to care about. Besides the Tse Gaiyan being more in depth than that, hopefully most characters are mor...

Re: Druidry Q and A

Not all druids have a problem with the resen, the Tse Gaiyan have a problem with the resen. Not all Tse Gaiyan are druids, and not all druids are Tse Gaiyan. Not all Tse Gaiyan are completely fixated on battling the resen and nothing else. I don't think resen has ever been confirmed or denied as a '...

It would be cool to have some mixtures that just made you feel happy or relaxed or strong or confident, without necessarily giving you mechanical benefits. Maybe some that numb pain as well.

I'm sure you could request to have it changed, but I doubt it'll happen automatically. I've been considering something similar for Lacie, since she's aged quite a bit since I made her.

Re: RPing a two-faced character

It's doable for sure. There's the 'think' command Avedri mentioned, though it won't show other characters your character's thoughts. It will, however, show you and the GMs. Alternatively (and one of my favorite methods) is to have your character find some kind of confidant -- someone they trust, who...

Re: Couple of questions about the Think command

I use think fairly frequently and I've not gotten flak about it. Basically, just make sure the thoughts are in-character, don't use it as the equivalent of Report or Bug. I think putting them all in one line would likely be better, but I don't think it's a huge deal either way. Then again, I use thi...
