Re: Grievances
I have been sitting on a lot of frustration over recent changes for quite a while now. A few urged me to post what was bothering me, but I have hesitated because, let's be honest, no admin enjoys having players [witch] about changes they're making. I was already getting the sense that some of the gm...

Re: Swimming
I'd just like to add that swimming does have its risks. My character has drowned at least twice. Perhaps swimming skill could have something to do with just how long you can stay afloat without tiring, or how much energy is lost per time, something like that? I'd definitely love to see swimming skil...

Re: NPC Locksmiths
Yes, yees, and yes. I understand that the idea is to make it more reasonable and preferable to go to a pc locksmith and that's why the npc ones are a bit ridiculous. However, I think it goes a bit too far. I've gotten to the point where I won't even use the npcs for boxes that my normal pc locksmith...

Re: Poultice 104 not healing severe wounds
102 will work on moderate wounds, too, it's just a whole lot slower. I don't know about anyone else, but I pretty much never use 101 or 103. Perhaps one of those could be removed and something else put in that would heal as fast as 104, but only work for moderate wounds or better and cost less herbs...

Re: Tough IC/OOC subjects
First to add to the original post, I agree that area names can get a little sticky with trying to stay IC about them. Particularly though, areas of the wilderness can get confusing. It's been said by other players that the area command is ooc, and yet guild tasks send us to very specific areas somet...

Re: What's your characters favourite item and why?
I think Faylen's most prized posession is a weapon she was gifted by another PC some time back. Sadly due to the material of the item, it's not repairable so she doesn't actually use it anymore, but she keeps it anyway because it was an expected and cherished gift.

Re: Grum Spring Festival
First off, I'm sorry that things didn't work out for those two events. I know that had to be incredibly frustrating. Faylen would have totally loved that treehouse, but since she already has a home she didn't qualify. As for the story one, I considered participating but hit writer's block and totall...

Re: Entitlement and Banning
I agree with the general sentament of this post. I do think, however, that this kind of concept can be taken too far, so that people are afraid to do anything or say anything because they might get banned or punished. Many of us have come from those kinds of environments with power hungry, bitter ad...

Re: Grum Spring Festival
Two questions.
1. With the piano, will the winner receive a point in piano skill so that they can gain skill in playing it, or will there be an npc that knows it that they can train from?
2. How will bids for multiple items work? Will you just take the top however many bids?

Re: Death looms!
Ok, on one hand I can see why this stuff would frustrate you. I was the one who did these things, and it seemed ooc even to me. On the other hand, some of this stuff is just weird anyway and it's very hard not to go there. With the familiar one, people were saying things like well perhaps the person...

Apparently this is implemented, at least for staves and flatbows. No idea when it happened or any other details, I only found out through experimenting. Pretty cool.

Re: He didn't quite make it...
Responding to the second half of the request, yes, please! I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to do when Faylen was brought to a rook to raise her rather than a monk. The familiar beckoned, so I was trying join, follow, etc with no luck. I looked at the familiar, reviewed the message when ...

Re: Removal of login/logout notifications
Kent, there was already a way for players to disable the login or logout notifications, just FYI. To be honest, although I can see the reasons for doing this, I'm still not sure I like it. It just means a lot more checking the who list to see if someone might be around I might be interested in rolep...

Re: Bug Report Etiquette
Thanks for this, Rithiel. I admit to being one that sometimes adds commentary, but my intent has never been to be rude or demeaning. I've done it usually when a certain bug amuses me and I try to make the report lighthearted while still giving the information. And yes, sometimes certain bugs do amus...

Re: Month of no CHAT?
This is pretty much just repeating what I've said elsewhere, but I think a month of no chat would be going way too far. A few days here and there, sure, although I hope next time that tells stay active. Disabling chat during major IC events I'm all for. Chat can occasionally cause IC/OOC crossover, ...

Various thoughts on horses
It's always seemed a little awkward to me how your horse gets defeated and ends up at a stable, yet falls unconscious once you retrieve them. I asked on question if there was some kind of lore explanation for this, and a gm (Rias?) responded that no, and that they were leaning toward making horses p...

Enemies and Injuries
Posting here since I don't know if this is intentional, a bug, oversight, or in the works. I and several others have noticed that enemies don't seem to have the same effects from injuries that we do. For example, if I hit an enemy in the legs hard enough to knock them down and cause significant dama...
Re: Commune
If it's changed, I would prefer there to be something separate. Sometimes checkin is also used as a sort of update of where we are if coming from a long way to meet up, or as a way to say hey, I'm here and looking for you. Honestly I don't mind it being there, as I think there are more advantages th...

Not a bug, but still doesn't seem quite right.
In the meantime, my suggestion to others is to catch kiskie or some similar npc and get them to fix your sheathes.

Re: Dead People's Horses
I've never understood why warhorses without riders just sit there and dodge attacks anyway if attacked. They're trained to bite and such, you'd think they'd at least defend themselves if nothing else. Then again I know very little about horses.

Re: OOC and Chat Behavior
I would like to add my absolute agreement here. I can say for myself that if I come to a game as a newbie, ask a genuine question, and someone pops out with a snarky nonhelpful answer, I very quickly get the impression that newbies and their questions are not welcome. I know there's no policy regard...

Re: Speech in emotes
I have to completely agree with Lysse here. I'm one that likes to use emote to make my character seem more realistic and make the rp flow more in a style similar to reading a story. Being restricted from combining speech and action makes that a lot more awkward. In real life, many use body language ...

Re: Home expiration idea
First, I really like the idea that Rias mentioned, and would absolutely love to see this implemented. As an addition, I think it would be neat if the owner could designate one or two others who could pay the property tax in their stead. These additional people would also get the warning letters, lik...
