Re: Aeromancy

Fair enough. We don't have to agree to see the merit in each other's points.

I never said it would be easy to use the ability, minimum of 300 and 1000 skill for each rank denotes a pretty practiced Aeromancer.

Rias doesn't seem to be keen and when it comes down to it, it's his game.

Re: Aeromancy

The ability journeyman Aeromancers innately receive moving through the wilderness with reduced RT. If it can manipulate the speed an entire body hastily why wouldn't it be able t do it in combat? There is wind whirin all around them.

While I feel as though this contradicts current abilities, I love tha you took a nice chunk of time to reply to all of the active topics. You guys putting constant effort and involvement is what ales his game better than almost anything else in the MUD world

Re: Aeromancy

You get flares with melee attacks while channeling. It's also the same principle as moving faster through the wilderness. Haste isn't necessarily a combat only thing. Perhaps you could carve -1RT off most skills, be them crafting or whatever...if you kept it running, which would suck up a good deal ...

Re: Aeromancy

I think it stands to reason another Aero ability at Journeyman, along side speeding movement through wilderness, would be to increase the speed of attacking with a physical weapon using wind currents. Perhaps -1s RT for someone running a specific "Currents" or "Haste" spell. Upon...

Re: Bushcrafters unite!

I would guess they would get some sort of survivalist training at the lodge that would give them +50 to certain skills like skimming, foraging, trapping and first aid?

There's an easy ability to code.

I'm excited to learn about these food and drinks with extra benefits.

Re: Elemancers as academics

I'm not exactly sure why we need another form of currency in a Reputation system that no other guild puts up with. Further, the path of the Elemancer is already the hardest in the game, it was designed that way by Rias and his ilk. A lot of what you propose would increase the difficulty and time sin...

Re: Firearms discussion

Considering we still use armor to stop bullet rounds, I think it's safe to say that CLOK armor should be able to, at least lessen the impact or stop the round all together. The last post raises an interesting idea for further work at the merchant's guild and a newer quality of armor....OR as a possi...

Re: New Pyro Tasks

Awesome Rias! What do we consider the "rarer stuff"? 1) Also, since the only reason some of us picked up Hydro or Geomancy was to be able to complete tasks, could we have the option to have that skill point refunded to us? It would be wonderful if said skill points were added into Pyromanc...

Re: Ability: Shield Pattern (Condensed)

Do you gain skill in the given element while the shield is up? If not, that's one reason why you might want to remove the added energy cost. Also, how big is this shield supposed to be? Just point blank, right? It doesn't affect anything unless it attacks you right? Fire, for instance, doesn't do da...

New Pyro Tasks

Thank you SO much for adding pyro tasks! I'd like to add a note. Short of walking around forever or asking someone, it's hard to know where to locate some of these trees. For instance, I'm on right now asking if anyone knows where to find "Larch" trees...and no one does. Could the task mas...

Re: Concerning Non-Combat Skillgains

Why do we automatically assess "effort or risk" to mean "harm to limb and body"? Perhaps there should be a riln fee if you don't complete a certain amount of skill gains within a certain amount of logged in time. Kind of like failing a class. So it would be like, you must complet...

Re: Gaining Druidry

I'd be interested to know if Devs would be inclined to give skill for cultivation tasks, it falls along the same line as elemental surveying but they've stated that they wont add skill ups to tasks for elemancers until they have pyro and aero tasks. Totem idea is pretty interesting as well, kind of ...

Re: Studying the Elements

Yeah, I'm down with all of that except I don't see why they shouldn't be able to attend labs/class everyday. You can go out and hunt every day. I do agree that a non-combat elemancer would not be on par with a combat tested one. This is another area where what I suggested about the gathering of reag...

Re: Studying the Elements

That's cool, but either way, if once a week was the case, that would have to be a hell of a skill gain, at least on par with what an elemancer practicing in combat could attain during the week...and it would have to be in one session. I love the ideas you came up with before but I think it's very pl...

Re: Faded Numbers..

Good question. What guilds are unpopulated? I feel like me and Pallas joined when there was a lull of people and both professions we took were fairly unpopulated at the time.

I don't think I've seen a bard yet...and when is this new survivalist guild coming out?

Re: Studying the Elements

I like the idea of labs as well, I don't think there should be a course cost over general tuition we already pay but I would not be opposed to a cost for reagents or having to gather some in advance. I don't think once a week would be enough and don't really like the idea that you HAVE to log in a c...

Re: Studying the Elements

Off the cuff -- Giving skill points for SURVEY in whatever your channeling when you complete the guild task and likely the same with Aero and Pyro when you guys figure out tasks for that. I would also say something along the lines of maybe doing it like channeling where you gain skill super slowly i...

Re: Still scratching my head

One way or the other, resisting arrest needs to be a little harder to do right out of the gate. I wouldn't have bitched about the 500 riln fine. But when I was just going about my business and the screen scrolls after I've already input the command...that's a bit faulty and didn't give me the chance...

Re: Guild Task Difficulty

It's possible but when I look at the homes I don't see doors. When I look at the house I'm supposed to be thieving I see some sort of door and usually would type: unlock <adj> door.

So multiple door could have been the issue. At least, I'd totally understand if they were.

Re: Still scratching my head

My little guy got arrested for petty theft (500 riln) then resisting arrest...I didn't even know I was being arrested before I tried to move...(5,000 riln). So now, because I was trying to figure out if it mattered if there was a visible NPC in the room, has now cost me 5,500 riln and all my posses...
