Offense may not be about actively trying to avoid getting hit, but that doesn't mean you can't learn something if you happen to avoid getting hit. I get that this is to prevent what you feel may be abusive training techniques, but I personally don't think it 'makes total sense' to remove the gains ...

I wasn't talking about abilities I was talking about where the headquarters are and the services If you wish to know that, then you can ask about it on 'Question' or you can ask permission to learn about the Guild in question via E-Mail with staff. I'm curious, which guild did you want to know more...

well that is kind of the point. so a guild isn't populated enough to have people help you does that mean we should all have are characters killed and because there is no one to ask for assistance? that doesn't seem quite right if someone does the hard towk to get into an rp guild then who is to say...

They aren't in fact, I can think of at least one more. And speaking a bit more on topic... I can see your point I think. It's alot harder to be a bad character in clok than a good one, especially a SUCCESSFUL bad character. Secretive guilds are just one of the points of some of the more antagonisti...

So no one liked my earlier suggestion of the Average non-craftsman pc being unable to see quality? :( It would simply cause people to study when they buy anything, if they end up having bad luck on the damage rolls or roll ranges.. the would quickly finger the seller as a liar and a conartist. I was under the impression that elemancers don't belong on the front lines, but simply supporting the other stronger characters. With this in mind it makes complete sense that they not be completely combat oriented, but made to support a group of people in creative ways. ...Have I really slept this...

Not really, it changes the worth of the shiny object. The daring will still use it. Shiny weapons and armor are not for training, they are for after you complete your training.
