My biggest concern with this would be that before long, half of all the active mercenaries would be Generals.

Re: Pocket capacity for lockbox coats, cloaks, etc

By the way, in the old days, did men wear mantles. or only ladies? According to Wikipedia, "the term describes a long, loose cape-like cloak worn from the 12th to the 16th century and during the American Civil War by both sexes , although by the 19th century, it was used to describe any loose-...

Re: Starting Locations

Is there a way to offer an "other" location to start? Just dumps you into the wilderness for characters that truly want zero mechanical affiliation with any faction? I guess Mistral would effectively do the same thing... still might be nice to offer. This would've been very sensible for m...

Re: Death? Meh!

On the one hand, I'm rather terrified about the harsher consequences death will soon have, given the fact my character has this inclination towards frequent demise. On the other, I'm really curious about the new upcoming revisions, and really hope they'll make the immortals a more integral aspect of...

Re: Making found treasure more...treasurable

The thing is, obtaining the item through interaction with another player would require the interactee to be recompensed for any piece of quality, and would require a suitably skilled character with whom it makes sense to interact to be present. Grinding up the skills to provide for yourself is more ...

Re: Bug reports: tips and guidelines.

Props for these guidelines. I'm guessing people not familiar with programming, and in particular debugging code, are not necessarily aware of these things. I did have one question regarding this: Also keep in mind that, if the bug is major, often times many other players will also address the same b...

Re: Silent or anonymous session

I'm tempted to start training stealth in secret and start getting Jaster et al. blamed for all manner of mischief people don't expect an armor-clad 7 foot giganti to be able to pull off. >_> Maybe a stealth alt to further elude the WHO-abusing masses? Ideas, ideas...

I pieced together it was you out of context, and unless you transformed it, I could have recognized your voice. The only time I called Jaster out on something naughty, I actually saw him. The WHO list is a bit detrimental to sneaky players' ability to get away with things 'cause of poor OOC/IC separ...

Variable roundtimes

I recently noticed skill level appears to have no impact at all on the inflicted roundtime of actions where this is variable, like knapping, grinding herbs and leatherworking. For example, knapping takes anywhere between 2 and 6 seconds, whether my skill level is 1 or 1000. Contrary to this: First A...

Re: Stinky Body Odor

This just seems like an all-around terrible addition. What happened to not adding random mechanical features that no one really wanted and getting back to quest-lines and RP? I couldn't disagree more. I think it's FAR too easy to get dirty and sweaty, but the blood and gore are a random mechanical ...

Re: Burning away nether?

Heat can be considered to have effects similar to that of a catalyst in that nothing happens at zero Kelvin, and thermodynamic processes occur faster at higher temperatures. Light causes lysis in many chemicals (look up photolysis), so maybe Nether undergoes something similar. It also carries energy...

Re: Burning away nether?

I guess the thing I'm forgetting is that the light/heat is apparently not impacted by the nether. I don't entirely understand this however, as they MUST be reacting in some way in order to physically interact. Thought I'd pitch in here that Nether appears to have a natural tendency to dissolve/disa...

Re: Burning away nether?

I personally feel going too deeply into the science of Nether and Thaum will inherently drive either the GMs or the players (or possibly both) completely mad. There are powers at work in Clok which simply have no real world equivalent, thus not all of it agrees or fits in with our real world's physi...
