I've thought a lot about what this post was going to look like, for most of the day. Many iterations passed through my head, but I've ultimately settled on telling a simple truth, and thanking the people who have been awesome along the way.
I quit the game today.
I don't intend to return (or play ...

Re: A perhaps radical Farming Suggestion
There's a lot of stuff in here that sounds like what I'm going for with faction-capturable sites and such! I don't think farming in particular is suited for it though.
I do think it might be cool if there was some kind of faction-capturable area for farming though - maybe a valley that's ...

Re: A perhaps radical Farming Suggestion
I'd probably have a bit of fun with something like this!
The biggest issue I have though is twofold. Firstly, that overexaggerated escalation is a pretty commonplace reaction to any kind of slight on most of the RP MUDs I've played throughout my life. It's a common tactic used by people to ...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans
Hmmm, I'll run over and add a few customization options to the gift boxes so we can have a little more variety. And I'll see what we can figure out for any spooky Corvites who want to get in on the gift-giving in their own little part of the world.
I don't know what the current leader of Corvus ...

Glad I could make it! I struggle to keep up with rooms that are as busy as that was (which is why I usually shy away from events!), so my apologies if I missed anyone emoting or saying anything to me. But that was quite a bit of fun!

Options From The Account Screen
It'd be great if we could access the Options/Config feature from the account screen, with any changes being made on the account screen using the config commands applying to every character you have. There's certain things that I always have turned on or off, and it'd be great if I could just have ...

Re: Titles, labels, etc.
I'd love it if we could just fill in titles for specific items - things like folders and vials I think should come sold with blank labels already affixed and things like papers and books should already be flagged as label-able (and change the LABEL command to instead let you interact w/ objects that ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
I just want to jump in here with the reminder that these abilities came in specifically so we could test them. The armor use fix just came in at the same time.
I'm getting the feeling that some have the impression this is how it's intended, and I just don't think so. Balance is clearly needed ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
Also while it isn't the focus of this thread, I fundamentally and strenuously disagree with the notion that it is okay for some characters to be flat out worse than others at a gameplay topic as broad as combat itself. You can say that a berserker should do better than a rook when fighting up ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
I'm just popping back in my own thread to gently point out that all of the Woes exhibited above also apply to light and medium armor users as well. It's not JUST a heavy armor problem; you will get nailed with severe negative rerolls in light armor too, especially if you actually want to stick to ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
Though with the latter approach, I would expect to see a meta emerge where people wear heavy on vitals and light everywhere else so as to benefit from having both good defense rolls and a damage sponge where it counts most.
This is one of the reasons I don't necessarily think that improving the ...

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
I mean, I think armor use hitting people with negative rerolls is fine. But I think it's too punishing for the heavy armor users, who's whole thing should be that they get hit more often, and just take less damage as a result. It's hard to make too many suggestions until the game is in a more fully ...

Reroll Command
I'm not sure how feasible this would be, since some of the rerolls we get are a bit ephemeral, or at the very list only come about situationally and aren't ever-present, but it'd be nice if the REROLL command displayed all of our current rerolls (positive and negative) that we have at a given moment.

Re: Woodworking
Squeak is correct. If you already have the woodworking skill by virtue of being a legacy character, there's a number of things that CAN be crafted. But the capacity to actually train woodworking skill up isn't functional, so it's not something new characters can do yet. Most of the crafts are in ...

Re: No Current Way To Attain Skills?
Most of the guilds aren't ready, since the game is in an "early release" state of this version. Clok: Reawakening is using a different enginge/codebase that has to be updated to match the way Clok works (and the changes Rias wants to make). While some of the PCs have limited access to guilds right ...

An Argument For Experience As A Resource
I think whether levels remain or are removed, that experience should remain within the game - instead going towards a pool (bucket or not - I'm not particularly bothered by the bucket and would rather it remain, and if it doesn't limit progression anymore I can't see a reason to remove it) that you ...

No, we'll just reduce stacks of them down to 1. Feel free to keep whichever ones you want for study or RP or curio collection or whatever other purposes! I just didn't want people to fall into the Consumable Item Trap of "well maybe I'll save them for use another year, I might need them later ...

Re: charms everywhere
P.P.S. Excess charms and such may mysteriously disappear not long after Octum is over, so there's no point in hoarding them. Use them now and get something out of them!
Does this apply to octum charms that are studyable/lore items? I like to keep ahold of one of each lore item so I can easily ...

I don't really see why it has to be one way or the other. An unguent is just a salve or an ointment, and I think it'd be cool to see both poultices and unguents, either to treat different things, or to treat different levels of wounds.
I also don't really see why there couldn't just be unguents ...

Re: Where are the monks now
CLOK is being rebooted under a new codebase. I would advise reading https://clok.contrarium.net/clokre.html for some of the basic details from Rias, and then there's an FAQ thread on the forums where he's posted a few times (and folks have posted notes from voice chat FAQs) at https://clok ...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
It seems we have like 4 druid-ish guilds now, five if you count dunwyr which is no longer joinable on pc side but pc members still exist.
Dunwyr have never been a "joinable guild" unless something specific changed after I'd quit - it's always been invitation only from staff as far as I'm aware.

In particular if envelopes could be made in such a way that they can hold a (finite) number of paper/page items (and maybe include bank notes in that too).Zeldryn wrote: Thu Aug 22, 2024 12:06 pm I mentioned sealing wax above, but someone mentioned envelopes in character today, and it struck me as just a fantastic addition to this.

Re: What is your character's theme song?
I know I've posted this on the other game's forums or discord before, but with tensions rising in game, I wanted to post a theme song for the rising conflict that's going on in the Lost Lands right now - note, this is fully what plays in my head when I think about a tense standoff between Shadgard ...
