Re: Consolidation of some abilities
Post-Lysse Edit: Even considering Elemancy, the only prerequisites you have for previous abilities is to be a journeyman, apprentice, or other in the same ability. And while they're both magic, they're completely different, like druidry vs thaumaturgy. Sorcery isn't that strong if you're talking ra...

Re: Consolidation of some abilities
I don't personally think that Rooks are really in need of consolidated abilities, for the same reasons that Elemancers don't. Magic is powerful. A guild that specializes heavily in magic should likely require a pretty good investiture of points.

Same. It's very possible for a Dwaedn Wyr to solo a drakolin under the correct conditions. Just like under the correct conditions, it's possible for a Rook to do so.

Re: Dwaedn as glass cannons
Something that might be worth looking into, is a system that eventually and gradually punishes a Dwaedn Wyr for relying on a single Hallowed Burial blessing too heavily. It could start out as working at a decreased rate (so, Boar would soak less damage, for instance) without any easily visible indic...

Re: gaslamp theme
I think the introduction of some simple, but nice, bits of artificery can make the game seem more appropriately gaslamp. But the issue tends to be, if you (for instance) add in clock tower to one place, that has a nice fancy mechanism room full of gears and doohickies, then the people in other towns...

Allowing you to guard someone with even part of your full skill while giving your apprentice completely effortless improved gains seems completely...

Thanks Rias, for being the helm for an awesome game, your rest is well deserved and you shall be awaited in Valhalla, shiny and chrome by Larry and Barry. I sort of started playing pretty near the end of your tenure it feels like, but it's been nonetheless enjoyable. I look forward to playing under...

Re: ability unlearning
It's already fluid. I don't really see any reason to make it more fluid, other than it's something you want to be able to do. You can already swap out abilities, given enough time. Lowering the time investment on that lowers the value of the ability change, making it less consequential.

30 days seems more than fair. Frankly, I think it's generous that PCs are allowed to unlearn abilities at all. I don't really see how it's going to hinder someone's fun to unlearn an ability either, personally.

Re: Gaea disturbance...
So I have some questions about the Gaea disturbance thing. If I'm logging in the Haiban Wood Reserve area, there really should be no sort of Gaea disturbance. This is a forest grown by the Coalition for the sake of logging. I had fallen five trees when I had sent out a "PANIC PANIC PANIC"...

I'd like to see some archery love. Maybe an ability that acts similar to hamstring, where you shoot a particularly vulnerable area of the leg, such as the knee, to stun the enemy, knock them down, and make ot harder for them to get back up. The downside could be less actual damage. Another ability ...

I'd love a Quality cap of just below average, personally. This means that Average quality items are much, much, MUCH more valuable, and people can't just "get by" without either taking the associated ability, or toughing through the small penalty. I might be able to get behind that. I was...

Considering the technology level of Clok, it might be appropriate to try to dredge up historical weights of coinage in the British Empire, maybe around the 1700s or so? Along with metal compositions and the like.

Not saying you shouldn't be able to get back into Mistral/have your crimes absolved, especially after a ...

Even if I haven't been playing, I'm genuinely sad to see this happened. Lae has been, without a doubt, one of the best characters to interact with in my time on Clok, through multiple characters. I'll still maintain that Lae was hands down the best Monastic Order PC I've ever experienced as well. I'...

I think it'd be interesting to add the hat-candles to the game, with some balancing features. Such as requiring hats to be cleaned afterwards, the potential to damage the hat through the flame, a random chance for the hat-candle to go out when moving from room to room, increased accuracy against the...

Some people would say Snowpine isn't very interesting or story-driving too. Doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Some guilds exist just for fellowship or character-specific purposes and don't have political agendas, world-altering goals, or other things going for them and that's okay. It's totally cool to...

That's sort of like saying "Some of us want Elemancy without paying dues and going to college", or "Some of us want Thaumaturgy, without being a Monk or Templar". I don't really see why Druidry should be made available through a Generalized ability. It's a form of channeling, and...
