Re: CLOK Survey

I like the survey. I wish I had more time for Clok both so that I could play more and provide better feedback. I wish there was a say that casual gamers could get a leg up, perhaps the way GSIV did it-- where players get a weekly or monthly bonus to learning that diminishes after a few hours of game...

Re: Feast and Fun!

Can we post the OOC date and time on these kinds of announcements here and on the in-game boards? When I type "time" in the game I get the actual date in parentheses. Perhaps the forums and poster boards can do likewise?

Re: Prompt on Hit

I agree. I also wish the prompt had my tactic instead of my position. Or maybe both?

And maybe combining all filth effects (smelly, bloody, gory) into only one letter, that one letter generally representing uncleanliness.

What do you all think?

Thoughts on melee from a game design POV

For what it's worth, I'd like to share my thoughts and suggestions on game design and martial combat. 1. Brawling, swords, polearms, and hafted weapons are not exactly separate systems of combat. For example, someone very skilled in swordsmanship is automatically skilled in hand to hand combat. A sw...

Re: For Humor

Dactor, has developed a professional medical theory (first aid level over 9000!) regarding the recent outbreak of eyesight disease in the lands. The most probable medical reason that everyone is suddenly wearing spectacles all at the same time, where none wore them merely weeks ago? Spores. Its gott...

List of all verb outputs

I made a list of all verbs and how they look when other people see you do them in the room. Check it out in Google Sheets or download in Excel: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A5ZbZSj17yrefCKjizxSvXWI5cu2d0O_O_-kK6kdlQU/edit?usp=sharing Google will probably try to open it in the awful print ...

Re: Eject Command

I guess it is realistic to be unable to just bar someone from joining your group. If some drunken beggar just joins the group of wealthy looking adventurers, what else can you do but take him in a dark alley an bludgeon him if he won't leave? On the other hand, the combat implications of joining a g...

Re: Players playing catchup

That does sound like a fun game for hardcore RPers Shutting down the cities for a week or two in Clok might make for an interesting event. Come up with an ingame excuse... a curse, a disease, a mass hysteria against anyone suspected of being Undying. Shut em out and see if they survive, and how. Now...

Re: Players playing catchup

Regarding Ki's appeal to fairness, if everyone gets the buff for their first (for example) 10 hours per week, doesn't that make it fair for everyone? I will also say that being a newb with no skills sucks when you want to RP with a veteran who will wipe the floor with you, i.e. Ki vs. Dactor in a kn...

Great response. What do. You think aout the economics of poultices and healing? It seems very strange to me. What takes hours and miles upon miles to forage for an herbalist is sold for 10 to 40 riln at the infirmary. Do you think something is weird here? What ways do you think herbalism and first a...

Re: Poultice 104 not healing severe wounds

Today I found out the hard way that a 104 doesn't heal severe wounds, but then I tried a 102 and that only reduced it to "bad". So it went from a -6 bleeder to a -5 bleeder with a 102. Is this a bug? 102 usually heals bleeders to moderate. And I also find it odd that the only poultice that...

I always thought a good use for crystals would be for tactical comms: Dactor: ESP we're raiding the local rogues gallery, who's in? Re: Spears

I like the updates to the heavy-hitter poles today. They have set spears and halbreds further apart, which is good news. Polehammers, poleaxes, and those heavy hitters are truly devastating weapons designed for defeating/damaging plate armor and armored heavy cavalry. They're poor for parrying light...
