If you wish for money, you could take up a profession.
You keep repeating this. Not every player wants to work on trade skills, and not every character would do them. "You can do x, y, or z instead" is not a valid answer to the concerns presented in this thread.
My encouragement to move on is to gain more skill.
Agreed. I think easier kills vs. skill gain and unique loot/boxes is enough of a balance as it is. Making it so that things will eventually drop nothing at all seems to be forcing people's play to a greater degree than is necessar...

I was talking more about aiming each hand's attack at a different body part, for example aim for the leg with a whip and the head/neck/eye with a dagger. But independent targets would also be a cool ability.

I understand them wanting it to be realistic, I just have a problem with "it's not that way in real life" being used as justification for something in a game. I didn't bring this up, therefor at least one person who is not me considers the current loading mechanics to be a detriment. I'm j...
The Speedloader was only invented a hundred years after the revolver.. If the technology for a revolver exists, surely the technology for a speedloader does as well. You buy a few speedloaders, you load them up outside of combat with the full RT, and you can use them for quick reloads during combat. Bingo bango!

Thanks guys. After so many years of Gemstone it's nice to ask a question and get a direct response about mechanics.

Do only the skills used in combat go into figuring a challenge level, or all known skills? For example, if I could be using daggers (say, M:300 vs D:100) but I instead use my underdeveloped brawling skill (M:100 vs D:100), how would challenge be calculated?

Forget donations, I want pay the infirmary a free for a week of "VIP" service, knock off 20 or 25% of the healing time. I seem to be getting a lot of 4 to 5 minute timers.

I understand being support base. I also think that if guild skills don't have anywhere to "go" as you play, it will lose an important aspect to me - the feeling of power with character growth. Also, to be frank, I log in and see 1-5 people playing. I don't think that it is prudent for guil...

I would like to cast my vote for skill-based. It would allow much more depth to skills. Let's start with, say, Word of Wonder. Right now, and I mean this in the nicest way possible because I still like it and the character, it's pretty underwhelming for my first guild skill. It is helpful if I have ...

I should add that I eventually figured it out, but it was frustrating for somebody who has never cast a spell before.

Also, I see that the guild skills are not listed with the actual skills that increase with use, so how do you make them better?

I joined the mummers, I told stories...

I finally got to rank 1 and learned Word of Wonder, and I was not even given a remote clue as to how to actually use it. Maybe I'm just missing something obvious, but it would be nice to actually be told how to use a new ability that is learned.

Independent TWC targets

I mentioned it in the whip thread but thought it deserved it's own post. How crazy unrealistic would having independent targets for each hand be? I was thinking the ability to aim for the left hand target would be based off of Two-Weapon Combat, defaulting to the right hand target location (or rando...

Little bit of a necro here, but do you have to do anything to get whips to do that or just keep raising the skill?

Tenlaar's Official Hurling Thread...OF DOOM!

I figured I would make a thread to keep all of the hurling related stuff nice and neat. Round one! 1. Since bandoliers are coming, can it be made so that you can gather up the weapons with one command like (as I understand it) you can with arrows/bullets? 2. a. Would it be possible to make a command...

Fantastic! Now if I could just get some time to sit down and play again.

Also, am I imagining things, or did I read that you can train off the added two seconds from marksmanship? If so, I am curious what kind of skill I will be looking at to do that.
