Re: A perhaps radical Farming Suggestion
There's a lot of stuff in here that sounds like what I'm going for with faction-capturable sites and such! I don't think farming in particular is suited for it though. - It promotes the idea of building/settling the wilderness, which is something we're trying to go the opposite way on. Even if desig...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans
This has been a lot of fun, hooray for the holiday spirit! Though the holidays tend to the busiest time of year IRL for myself and most (all?) of my fellow GMs, some of us are going to TRY to bring around some item customization providers before the Winter Solstice date to add some personalization t...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans
After some pokes about it, it's now possible to specify some prominent named NPCs for the gift box labels. Mostly the ones that you can regularly see in the game and ASK about stuff with dialogue, as well as a few others that seemed well-known enough to include. If your favorite NPC isn't available ...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans
Any chance we can make this not automatic/a requirement? Secret Santa could be fun and it's definitely not because I want to anonymously send soap to every character I've passed who's been smelly at some point. I considered an option for anonymous sender, but I worried about the increased potential...

Re: Winter Solstice Gift Giving Shenanigans
Per the changelog: "It is now possible to LABEL a gift box with a recipient and PUT it under the Winter Solstice Tree! (Only a gift's recipient or sender may retrieve the gift box from under the tree.)" Thanks for the great idea! The label specified must be another PC's coded name, and the...

Re: Leatherworking returns!
Oh, regarding brigandine and splint: They're a little goofy due to their hybrid material nature. For now, brigandine is considered primarily leather and so is repaired by leatherworkers, while splint made with metal splints is considered primarily metal and so is repaired by metalworkers. Brig is me...

Leatherworking returns!
Per the in-game announcement: "Trainers of leatherworking abilities can now be found in the tanneries of Shadgard and Corvus Outpost." (Corvus got a new NPC in their tannery for this purpose, hooray!) Note that leatherworkers can use sinew in place of thread for leatherworking projects. Th...

Warm sit-down food
As per some recent announcements, a lot of sit-down food is now served warm, and will provide a little morale boost when eaten while still warm, while giving a tiny morale penalty when eaten after it's gotten cold. A more recent update made it so that if you stay in the place you ordered the food at...

Rumor has it there are rumors in Corvus!
Some rumors have been added to Murky's Pub to help show off more of the Outpost's mood and atmosphere. It's also a fun way for us share a few historical tidbits and thought-provoking maybe-possibly-might-be-legit comments and claims! If anyone has suggestions for another rumor hub spot, let us know.

Re: Armor Use and the Woes of Negative Armor Rerolls
This situation definitely need some serious attention, and I'm sure it didn't help that for a long while there was a bug preventing armor hindrance from occurring, so people had gotten used to not being affected by that until the day it was suddenly fixed. A lot of ideas are being mulled over, and t...

Re: Aphraen
On the Clok wiki, I noticed all of the info uses he/him pronouns You must be mistaken. I'm looking at the info now and the Faewyr clearly interpret Aphraen as a woman. Of course it's always been that way. Ehem. Are there other Immortals that have a distinctly different representation in Clok compar...

Lost Lands article update

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
Something else I just noticed; Is it intended that Urban Stealth has no pre-requisites, but Woodland Stealth is locked behind class specializations? Whoops. I'll set it to have class prereqs for now, though the stealth abilities will eventually probably have their own stealth proficiency parent nod...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
Unless I've missed something, Ranged characters seem to have a lack of defensive abilities. With that in mind, I'd like to suggest Combat Style: Finesse (and possibly pragmatic) could be learned with either ranged or melee combat proficiency. That way it gives ranged playstyles, either mundane (arc...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
More class trainer NPCs! Bard: Jerromir at the Mummers' Camp is available to all regardless of faction (unless you're hated by the Mummers themselves). Yes, you'll have to travel out of your home town. That's bard life for you! We'll probably get in-town Bard trainers eventually. Ranger: Stian in Sh...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
Hrm, what messaging are you seeing when you try? They shouldn't be exclusive to each other, and I was just able to take Melee Combat Proficiency and then Ranged Combat Proficiency from the trainers in the Shadgard barracks.

not even attempting on 2 and 3 because you're not playing it as PCs No sense in arguing semantics! I think we'll have a plenty valuable experience playing the game without any GM powers, with all the processes and grinds and progression and such that that entails, even if other people know we're do...

Re: GMs want to get in on the player character experience
I'll clarify that we all still have our main PCs that we've had for many years. While I'm sure some have been guessed as being played by GMs over the years (thank you to everyone who has the class to not be public about these guesses or speculations by the way), most of us have kept quiet about them...

GMs want to get in on the player character experience
Some of the GMs - myself in particular - want to get in more on the player character experience side, and just general enjoyment of playing the game. I won't speak for the other GMs, but it's been a long while since I've actually played my game(s) in earnest. I'll run around a little at times on my ...

Re: On the horizon: Ability Trees, Class Specializations, and Guilds
I'm leaning mostly against Marauder Dwaedn, frankly. Marauder as a concept just strikes me particularly strongly as a human mindset type of class, rather than embracing the bestial ferocity (Berserker) or predator-like stalking and ruthless "way of the hunt" (Nightblade, Ranger). I'm just ...
