It's rather difficult to be playing an instrument in actual combat. Instead of playing instruments, it would be better if mummers could build their own music box and tuned it for their needs. Just wind the thing up and let it play. Probably won't be as effective as playing an instrument but seems mo...

If you introduce a faction system pertaining to Gaea, you might as well add in a faction that promotes decay and destruction. By deforesting an area, the tree hugging faction starts to hate you and the tree hating faction starts to like you. The opposite applies, the more in-tuned you are to the for...

I got a macbook with osx 10.5.8, I'm currently using Mudwalker and would like to try switching over to Atlantis. I can connect successfully, but can't seem to log on. //login and --login do not work.

IC identities and player name

It would be more interesting to be not be able to know another person's name unless revealed by a third party or that person him/herself. In IC situation, I find it funny that I already know a complete's stranger's name without any prior knowledge of that person. When Lord Sceptus appeared before me...

I think uberspells should be the resulting of combining two or more mastery of elements. Elemancers should have an ability where they can link with one or more elemancers. The more casters in casting the spell, the more powerful it can become. Such a spell would be very useful in group endeavors.

I generally don't group because of several reasons. One main reason is because I'm a very casual player and tend to be afk quite a bit from multitasking between mudding and real life chores. Second reason is that I like to explore things on my own. Mudding is like reading a book at my own pace. Some...

Being guards in Shadgard is a very stressful job, using you as a punching bag helps them release that stress and cope with the job. Maybe you should bribe them to less you off the hook before getting arrested or surrendering.

Get an empty barrel, put the rubble in the barrel, pour in a bag of mortar, put in some water, get a stick or something to mix the stuff on the barrel until you get cement and use that stuff to reinforce the walls of the mine to ensure even less future cave-ins. Then go fire the carpenter. Cement is...

Since a crafted haft isn't the finished product but rather one of two pieces that make the final product, I think think it as intended that way. This is similar to leather crafting where the highest quality pelt is exquisite and you only get masterwork quality in the final product.

I like Lae's idea but got mixed feelings about it. Rilns are currently weightless. Bags of riln (if stealable) would suggest the rilns now weigh a certain amount. 1000 rilns would weight a lot more than 100 rilns. The extra weight would negatively affect stealth and movement. I can't imagine withdra...

More uses for pelts to add comfort to the home

Need to make my house comfy. Make some rugs or mats from pelts/furs. Need to keep my house less drafty on them cold nights. Make some drapes from furs for the windows. I could also stay extra warm with a fur comforter or blanket on my bed. Add in a fur covered pillow.

There needs to be a general skill that measures our understanding of creature anatomy. This skill will affect how well we kill creatures. If you hunt a monster and not know its vital points and skeleton structure, what was intended to be a critical hit could have deflected on a bone and merely scrat...

I don't see how that's any different for those people fishing off a bridge that's about 5 feet above water surface. I live by the beach and they got a pier several feet above water where beach goers can walk under it while fishermen fish on the pier.

Stop the bleeding

Here's an alternative to bandaging to stop the bleeding:

Light a torch, and use it to sear the open wound shut, or use it to heat the blade of a weapon and sear the wound shut with that. Requires less skills and may save you from becoming unconscious from excessive blood loss.

I was trying to find place to hide to train hiding and I keep getting noticed. Actually, I keep noticing that the NPCs in the same room are noticing me trying to hide.
