The Emberberry Effect is an OOC term used to describe when a vague concept or minor lore mention is latched onto by the playerbase and taken increasingly seriously over time until it becomes something far more than it was originally intended to be. This occasionally ends up being adopted to some degree into official lore as recognized myths and rumors in the IC world, and has once or twice even caused an unintended metamorphosis from myth to reality as it may be adopted by GMs who bought into the myths as players and later (erroneously) implemented them as reality after they joined game staff.
(Note for clarity's sake: Emberberries are not harmful to infested creatures.)
